PCSX2 Makes Me Happy..

Long Live Emulation !!

i remember back in the day before the big gui overhaul pcsx2 got, it was one of the more arcane emulators i'd used. certainly not as weird as something like mednafen or dosbox, but it was REALLY weird how you had to select a rom from a dropdown menu, then start the emulation... it was also my first run-in with an emulator that required a bios to run, and that had younger me stumped for a while.

that said, i think the new gui is excellent! anything that replicates dolphin's gui is pretty great. though for some reason whenever i start it up, it takes a couple of minutes to load my game list... it's really strange, the rest of my computer runs pretty quick, it's just this one thing that's super slow.

I love it too, though I'm a sucker for Mesen. There're many good alternatives to what it proposes to do, but I'm always impressed, regarding its Turbografx-16/CD emulation capabilites.

The games are rendered at such a crisp, beautiful image...so much so, that I've actually played through Rondo of Blood all over again, after having played it on the Turbografx ::biggrin

BSNES with HD mode 7 or Duckstation is probably my favorite, since those emulate my favorite systems.
PCSX2 is really good now though and I do enjoy me some ps2 now and then

I'd say it's catching up to Dolphin and PPSSPP as one of the great emulators out there.

Indeed the Best! They did away with the plugins and it's much more streamlined now. hope the other emulators get better and follow suit as well like RPCS3 and Vita3k.

I
COMPLETELY
AGREE

Gamecube is my fav 6 Gen console, but the PS2 will have a place in my heart, now that not only the GUI and the vanilla optimization makes it rarer to have to configure every single individual game i can emulate more confortably the beasts that are GOW I and II, with my (Bragging time :3) 1 TB memory and knowledge of CHD conversion i can finally have a decent collection

I still think the PS2 is the best console of the best era, and no, no one will change my mind.
PCSX2 is like part of my family at this point.

The PS2, in general, is something that's just unbelievably special.
So yeah, PCSX2 adds some extra sauce to it. It's great.

After the release of version 1.60 the emulator had a drastic change, now it is very good and Nightly is very stable ^^

Now that it's not a pain to use it's definitely great.

Gamechanger for me plays everything from burnout to WWF and need for speed underground just when i think ive got the ps2 worked out i discover more missing games i want to play.

I’m happy it makes you happy.

Fusion was the first to really blow me away, then ePSXe. It was a while longer before I checked out PCSX2 and DuckStation, but they're both extraordinary pieces of software, especially to someone non-techy minded like moi.

I remember PCSX2 used to be sort of an Intel only emulator a decade ago, it couldn't run crap on my old AMD Phenom II. You have no idea how much I used to hate it?.

There were graphics issues when i first got it but it looks sharp now and saving games is real easy.
It feels great now I can finally enjoy a lot of PS2 games I missed out on.
