Since I finished PDS like 3 days ago, I wanted to share my experiences with all the franchise.
It has been one of the most unique experiences I ever had with a videogame, its storytelling is very strange but charming, the music feels like something you would hear on an ancient ritual, and the artstyle is probably my favorite on any videogame franchise.

So i also want you to share your experiences and memories with this forgotten games.

I like PD/PDZ/PDO all quite a bit. I'm bad at all of them, but there's a certain something about the presentation across the series that I can't put my finger on, but it hits a spot that I really like and not many other series do that.

PDS might be my favorite RPG ever. It's been awhile since I played it, but I remember being really blown away by it, while also appreciating that it wasn't like 60 hours long. Of all the games I've sold, it's definitely the one I regret the most.

Great series. Aesthetics, gameplay, everything, A+.

Probably SEGA's most underappreciated franchise.

It's almost criminal that it only got a side game on the GameGear, and then a buggy Windows port outside of its home console. Even Virtua Cop got a PS2 release!

IIRC they also included that port as an extra feature in PD Orta

iirc there was an AGES 2500 version of Panzer Dragoon for PS2, but it's real fuzzy in my memory. May have just been that PC version running on a PS2?

Man, I adore Panzer Dragon.
Used to own 1, 2 & Orta physically.
I still have the soundtrack for the original on Vinyl.

Played through Saga/Azel years ago using the Yabause emulator.
I should really play it again now I have a modded Fenrir Saturn.

Less enthusiastically I purchased the remake day one on both the switch & later on Steam, totally isn't worth the price considering you can complete the whole game in just 40 minutes buuuuut I had hopes Zwei would get a remake one day.
My heart still hurts. No remake materialised.

Orta on the Xbox has the full PC Version ported as a bonus for completing the game.

I believe the Sega Ages version was a re-worked from the ground up. It allows you to switch between the original Saturn version or a visually updated mode with better 3D Models.
Considering the massive architectural differences between the Saturn/PS2 it would have been easier for Sega to just make a version using the improved models and then dumbed it down it into running Saturn visuals.
That or its emulation magic.

Oh! There's an obscure OVA too:

Yup, Sega launched an AGES edition of PD1, I don´t know certainly if it´s a port of the Windows version or a completely new build.

Oh...yeah...it was a bit bad, but it´s kinda cute to see the universe of panzer dragoon in animation.

I've played the remake then the original Saturn game (+ PC port).

I wish the PS2 version was available in the west and I should try doing Zwei, Orta and Saga.

I really like the Dune/Nausicaa esque world in the game. I feel like there's way more behind the game than its intro. I miss when they did seemingly complex worlds with less.

Although I still think that for 1997 Star Fox 64 is the superior game of the two.

1995
You insert the Panzer Dragoon disc on Saturn
And this begins

You know perfectly that this is some special.
Pure Next Gen
The Saturn outselling the Nintendo 64 In Japan was because of moments this,
Its library was pure next gen, especially at launch.
Even in the west, Tomb Raider was originally developed for the Saturn- the Playstation port appears 6 months later.
But Sega of America either refused to import then ground breaking games or couldn't secure exclusivity deals. It's just sad.

But anyway!
Look at this adorable music box.

I didn´t know I needed this in my life
