Painful question: “Have you ever had your console or games stolen?”

When I was in high school, I got really pissed off in my Physics class and walked out to cool my head... I had some issues back then, of course, but in my defense, I was treated extremely unfairly in that particular class. And not just by my classmates, either...

Anyways, so yeah, I'm out maybe fifteen minutes to calm the fuck down, right? When I get back, the game case I had in my backpack with most of my Pokemon games at the time in it was gone. Diamond, HeartGold, SoulSilver, Ruby, FireRed, and LeafGreen, all with hundreds of hours on them. Gone. Along with the limited edition Pokemon game case, of course.

So I go to the teacher and I tell her, right? I knew she hated my guts (and I don't say that sort of thing lightly, either) but I figured she couldn't POSSIBLY be willing to overlook such a thing in her own classroom. I was wrong. She told me "I shouldn't have brought them if I didn't want them to be stolen."

After that, well... Let's just say my efforts to not lose my cool backfired that day.

P.S.
That isn't even the only time I've had a Pokemon game stolen from me, either. But that's enough for now.

I had a friend who would steal my games whenever I wasn't in the room. When he was caught he was banned from our household. As for getting my games back it was a bust because he apparently had a habit of stealing other kids games so he had a collection of games with destroyed labels so no one can tell what's what except him.

I've never had a console stolen but I've had two or three games stolen by the same friend.

My entire SNES collection, which was most of the top tier stuff, maybe 50 games, plus my rev2 SNES and a sweet “Capcom Fighter” controller. My fault though, I was letting a local coffee shop use them in a lil’ public gaming corner, and they got robbed. Lost some vinyl too. It’s been over a decade now and I’m still kinda salty, mostly cause I’ve never seen another one of those controllers anywhere. Also SNES prices.

Mentioned it in another thread but my copy of Pokémon X was found in my oldest sister’s wall, she probably stole it idk why else it would be in a secret compartment carved into her wall.

She also ‘borrowed’ my mom’s (aka the family’s) copy of ‘Lock’s Quest’ around 5+ years ago, still has it, don’t think she’s ever giving it back.

Someone thought they had implied permission from me to borrow games. (They didn't.) They took copies of Lunar 2 Complete, Legend of Man, and SaGa Frontier 1 & 2 while I wasn't home and went to some friend's house. While they were at that place, some guy they didn't know took the games and left. They were never returned.

When I was kid a guy from my school "borrowed" a couple of my Nintendo 64 games and never returned them. My original GameBoy Color with Pokémon Gold also disappeared mysteriously around that time. Since then I've taken good care of my games and basically never lend them out.

I definitely had some games go "missing" in the early 2000's in high school and then in the mid 2000's in college. Never any consoles, though.

Sort of, I left my Wii U and Xbox 360 with my (at the time 11 year old) brother while I went away for college. When I came back 4 years later he told me he had thrown them out because they were taking up space. He mistakenly thought I had given them to him. Still had the PS4 though.

I had a friend visit. She then looked through ALL of my DS games, leaving them on the floor instead of putting them back on the shelf, and when she left I found that 3 of the cases were empty, namely the ones I had told her were rare. Last Window, Phantom Hourglass, and Tomb Raider Underworld (dunno why I claimed that was rare but I did). I calmly texted her but of course she denied, and so instead of making a bigger fuss of it I swallowed the pill and saved up to order loose copies on eBay to refill the cases.

I've always been a portable console gamer, never had a home console, except for a single week. We got a Wii back in it's hayday and then a week after we got it, someone broke into our house and stole it. (I did recently pick one up with a broken disc drive for cheap for modding stuff so i can at least say i finally got around to having a wii)

One of my folks hocked my DS to a pawn shop instead of cutting back on alcohol. It was limited edition too....

Unfortunately someone I knew very likely stole my childhood copies of Pokemon Fire Red and Heart Gold. I suspect they figured that, since they had at one point borrowed them without my permission and saved over my old saves (which is something I did definitively discover) there'd be no issue with just... taking them. I wouldn't suspect it so strongly if it wasn't for the fact that the last time they were in the house was the last time I saw those games.

My younger brother took my copy of firered and gave it to his friend for some reason, luckily when my my found out she called his mom and they gave it back, kid didn't even delete my save files or mess with my pokemon thankfully. So i guess i got lucky

Me and my friends would trade games covertly at school. The day I happened to bring my copy of Wind Waker to let them borrow, someone broke the lock on my locker and swiped it. Nobody knew I had brought it, as I hadn't told my friend ahead of time. We had a string of locker break-ins and I thought it couldn't happen to me, just so happened to occur that day.

Reading all the tragedies you guys posted makes my blood boil for some reason.
I'm feeling the urge to beat the hell out of people who do this to y'all.

I've had MOST of my consoles and games stolen.

However, somebody GAVE me my 3rd Nintendo Switch, which was really cooll!
But it got stolen too... as did the first 2... and all my games (by a towing company--they also stole my 3rd Phat/60 PS3 and my Sega Saturn)

The one who hocked my limited edition DS died of diabeetus, so he isn't hurting anyone anymore.

My sympathies to all the people who have had their consoles and/or games stolen. ::sadkirby Thankfully, I have never had any consoles and/or games stolen.
