"Suddenly, the savings that for a year and a half I had earmarked for the materialization of that marvelous console everyone was talking about...was lost forever at the hands of a heartless, soulless assailant.
It was my life or the Switch...And I chose to live.
I said goodbye to Link's Awakening that came pre-installed and that was beginning to look like a beauty to me... "

My cousin "borrowed" my PS2 just before he moved to a different state and never talked to me again.

I happened to have two Game Boy games stolen from me by an acquaintance whom I had naively invited to my home: Fist of the North Star (a rather embarrassing title) and Link's Awakening (a title that was definitely more convincing than the former). This happened while, in all likelihood, I had gone to take a leak....
I did not notice it immediately, but rather after about a month.... Later the owner of my favorite video game store told me about this person I had met right there, and he confirmed that this person was a kleptomaniac.
For the first time in my life I felt like an utterly naive jerk....?

Fist of the North Star is a great anime! Some of the games aren't very good though.

Never, I'm extremely protective to my stuff in general.

The only good ones I can think of are the PS1 and Lost Paradise on PS4, the rest are just... bad.

What about the Arcade fighter?

Is it the one from Arc System Works? Actually it's fun, but most characters has infinites that you can easily exploit, once people found out it's just a matter of time until everybody use the same trick.

my friend in college bought a ps3 and asked me if i can give him my games for some time, after a while he started to tell me, that my games were at his countryside house, and that he needs to drive there first to collect them, i asked him about it like once a week, and would get the response "sorry i forgot" , years went by and we stopped being friends, a few months ago my other friend told me that his siblings broke my games.

When I was a kid, maybe 2007 or 2008, my dad had a big collection of ps2 games and a fat ps2. The whole lot was stolen while we were grocery shopping. It must have had some sort of psychological effect on me, but I can't explain it. Devastating loss that took quite a few game shop trips to restore.

I haven't, but I've been on the other side of the bars...
Around like 2009 I """borrowed""" a Gameboy Color from one of my best friends for an extended period of time so that I could play a Pokémon game, then just sort of laid it aside and totally forgot about it. I paid him fifty bucks for it later on though because I had accidentally kept it for years and felt bad.

He didn't really mind though because he didn't use it, and those fifty bucks got him the Starcraft 2 expansion iirc which he was really excited for.

Man, these are all so sad
Fortunately I have never had a console or game stolen.
However I once considered stealing one; when I was a child we got a Pikachu N64 gifted to me and my older brother, we had a bunch of games from Gauntlet legends to Ocarina of Time. After a few years my father gave us an OG Xbox and one day I went to the living room just to find out the N64 wasn't there, turns out my mom gave it to a friend of hers who had kids since we didn't need it anymore.
I was mad, especially since my mom really wanted us to be friends with them and we'd go to their house fairly often. And there I would see my nintendo 64 calling to me like the green goblin mask to Norman Osborn

*everyone writing and explaining how it happened"
Ikagura: yes , leaves and never elaborates further ::eggmanlaugh
I wanted to answer but since it's a pretty personal story I don't really want to tell much.

Just saying it was a DS Tank (not a big deal per se) but it's still annoying.

Well I wouldn't say "stolen" more like "sold without my knowledge or consent"
My mom once sold our PS2 more than ten years ago and I haven't forgotten about it since...
