Live action Pokémon is not something we have seen a lot of, but in fall/winter 2023 we got this quirky little series of 10 episodes that sees a young university grad get a job at a small ad-firm, where she tries to manage with difficult clients and unhelpful co-workers. That all changes though as her mother sends her her old GameBoy pocket along with Pokémon Red, and she starts getting addicted to the game. As the show progresses not only does she learn to handle her job better through the game, such as learning of type advantages against her clients, but she also helps her co-workers become better people, and finds that her whole life strangely runs parallel to the game.

It's a super cute and wholesome mini-series if you can find it subbed in English. An official release does exist, but unsubbed.

A nice touch is also the use of 8-bit sound effects throughout the series, as well as the opening theme being an orchestral remix of the theme from the original games.
