The original XBox exclusive that I’m the most passionate about is Blinx 2: Masters of Time and Space.

A 3D platformer of two halves. The time crystal has been destroyed, and a war has broken out between the Time Sweepers (the cats) and the Tom Tom Gang (the pigs). You play both sides, customizing your own character and team for each.

Time Sweeper sections are much like the original Blinx, but far more polished. You platform, suck and shoot environmental objects, and alter time with stops, rewinds, fast forwards, and records to reach your objectives.

As a Tom Tom Gang member on the other hand, the game becomes much more of a stealth platformer, as you use a variety of cartoonish traps and tricks to fool and sneak around those darned Time Sweepers. Cracking safes, stealing gems, and getting up to cartoonishly evil hijinx!

The game is a very unique title, not just for the XBox, but in general. Incredibly high effort and very fun! The poor game was never given the chance to shine though, thanks to the meme-like reputation of the original Blinx (a game that Microsoft was trying to force to be their mascot in the early days of XBox), and being released next to the awesomeness that was Halo 2.

Blinx 2 has never been ported and still exists exclusively on the original XBox.

As my absolute favorite console, the Xbox is simply a firework of entertainment to this day.
Many games are relatively unknown but absolutely recommended.
I'd love to bring Panzer Dragoon Orta into the running. Not only because it's technically great, but also because it was, unfortunately, one of the last great rail shooters.
You fly your dragon along a more or less fixed route through the levels, taking down everything in your sights.
The special feature of Orta was that you had three forms that you could level up depending on your playstyle.
I like the visuals, the great sound, the story that's told, and the simple but challenging gameplay.
This simple, but for me, very fun, principle always brings me back to this game to unwind and enjoy.
It's also very easy to get running these days because it's part of the Series S/X backward compatibility project.
All in all, I can recommend the game to anyone who would like to remember quieter days or is a fan of games like Star Fox.

For the fans of the TV series but not only. An excellent Action-Adventure game that is very nice Especially for the year it came out as a must for fans of the series. Similar to the successor multi-platform Chaos Bleeds

I was actually thinking about writing about this game! I chose not to because I’m so bad at it that I know better than to try and act like an expert lmao

I’ve actually seen this around but assumed it was nothing special. I guess I’ll have to get this for my Box, since I have great memories of watching the show with my family!

Overall, SEGA talent OWNED the XBox.
There’s a reason it has the fan nickname “Dreamcast 2”.

...the gameplay is pretty fun! It's more involved than one would expect. It's one of few titles on the system to make use of the analog sensitivity found on the face buttons of the Xbox controller. Graphically, Team Ninja made great use of the Xbox systems, as shown within this game, alongside the more popular Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive titles.

Timing your button press is the name of the game in DOA Xtreme 1. You can also somewhat control your partner using the right stick, allowing for greater strategies.

The DOA Xtreme series was also exclusive to the Xbox 360 for its second release, however the third game in the series switched development over to the Playstation 4 and the Vita.

I wouldn't consider DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball to be the pinnacle of Xbox exclusivity, but its worth a mention beyond just saying *BONK*. All that being said, yes, the characters being attractive is certainly a leading reason why one would play this series.

Of all the games I seen announced for the orginal Xbox back in 2001, Jet Set Radio Future was one of the very few games that got me once enticed to the Xbox, more notably with the Xbox 360 since it's mostly backwards compatible. I always enjoyed the open world exploration, the setting, its soundtrack, and the robust amount of characters to play as.

Ninja Gaiden Black is considered one of the best action games of all time.

Xbox also has the best version of Gauntlet Dark Legacy that is multplat tho

there are a few games that were exclusives i cherished. i bought an xbox to begin with just to play the next Oddworld game, Munch's Oddysee. it doesn't hold up to a childhood memory, it is quite mid to return to these days, i have it installed on my steam deck and boot it up occassionally to reminisce. but it is precious to me. there are few games i hold in sentimental regard to overlook their glaring issues.
the original xbox, at time of release, it was special.
everything was green and tech hologrammy, and if you idled and turned up the volume you could hear weird almost voice like sounds. very evocative, it gave the device this certain intangible 'something'.
i loved ripping CDs of the era to use as custom soundtracks. i'm talkin Linkin Park, Muse, uh idk, Aphex Twin. then having to individually name the tracks yourself. what a hassle it was, i loved it.
just so you could sometimes jam to In The End playing Midtown Madness 3 or whatever that one game that wasn't Brute Force that everyone seemed to have lol.

I loved Blinx and Blinx 2.
Breakdown was an interesting (I believe) xbox exclusive.
Kung Fu Chaos! loved that game.

has anyone here played much with an Xbox emulator on a Steam Deck? it was Xenia iirc, and i ran into some troubles with the emulator files not working, despite trying several different bios/hd files etc. disappointing cause i already transferred buncha roms
it's delightful to see the little vib ribbon groovin in your signature, OP ::megadancebaby

I was a big sicko for the original Xbox back in the day. Ate up all the exclusives I could. If you told me that you got that massive brick of a system just to play Halo and Halo 2 and nothing else, I'd say that's extremely reasonable because that's just how good those games are.

Though instead of exclusives I feel that the main selling point to me is that the original Xbox always had the best versions of any of the third-party games. It was the beefier of the systems in terms of power (with the PS2 being the weakest and GameCube somewhere in the middle) and if you're ever collecting stuff from that generation you should definitely get the Xbox versions.

Xenia would be the Xbox 360 one and it has made some serious strides lately. It takes some work messing with settings and using patches, but a lot of stuff is playable now.

There's also a recomp project done for Sonic Unleashed on the Xbox 360 that actually made it possible for recomp projects to be done for all Xbox 360 games???

If you're more interested in original Xbox game emulation then you'll be surprised to see that Xemu has been doing pretty well.

yeah Xemu, that was the one. i had followed some guides and went out searching myself for different bios/hd files and whatnot but couldn't seem to get them to work for me, definitely user error of some kind. perhap i had installed xemu incorrectly or something. i will look into this again

I didn’t even know the XBox had that lmao

I also adore ripping my CD collection to my XBox! It actually has some discs I sold a while ago, so it’s been keeping me from modding my console since I don’t want to lose all the data that’s on my hard drive…

Thanks for the like of the Vib! I had her added yesterday! You can thank Waffles for helping me get her working because it wasn’t happening from my end lmao

A new day, a new game.
Now come two games that hold a very high value for me.
I'm talking about Otogi 1 and 2.
Both are ARPGs that benefit primarily from their aesthetics and setting.
Not that the overall gameplay is bad, but it's secondary here.
The visuals and the minimalist background music still captivate me.
But the power of the combat system is also absolutely top-notch.
When you grab an enemy and ram them into the ground so hard that a crater forms, that's quite something. The destruction of the environment is really well done and underlines the power of the attacks fabulously.
Anyone interested in Japanese mythology and previous From Software games should take a closer look at this magnificent, albeit expensive, title.

Been meaning to add one of these to my collection! It’s just that they’re actually expensive… by original XBox standards. I’ll check them out one day!
