Pessimistic. Supremely. At least, when it comes to humanity and our continued existence.
Then again, I studied Environmental Science in school, with a focus on Sustainability and Sustainable Ecosystems. Know the Gorillaz album Plastic Beach? I've seen virtually the same damn thing in real life. On multiple continents, in countries both industrialized and not.
We have such a beautiful planet, but all we want to do is trash it. That shouldn't be too much of a surprise, because we love to trash ourselves, too! Smoking. Drinking. Junk food. Sodas. And, of course, prescription and recreational drugs. How can we honestly expect people to take care of the planet when so many of us
can't even take care of ourselves?
In saying all that, provided there's no asteroid or other cosmic cataclysm, I actually feel pretty good about the overall future of the world... just after a few million years, when humanity has wiped itself out completely
