well I am sure af not watching it but uh this is a forum for sharing our opinions and whatnot so I don't get why so many people love to repeat things like this. its not like we are going to bomb the studios that made it.....................
Fully agree with this mindset
“Don’t like it don’t watch it” isn’t quite applicable in this particular thread, by concept alone.
I’m also still of the opinion we should generally be more critical of recreations of culturally relevant works, as it invites necessary discussion about preservation and the way to go on about it.
Now i personally believe that, in an ideal world, we need both the remake and the default version be side by side. Preferably with the OG being a remaster if it’s doable.
I, for one, do not inherently object to a remake as a concept at all. It’s heavily tainted by modern technology as well as modern standards and malicious nostalgia baiting but in a perfect world, no one should really object to remakes as a concept.
There’s merit to having revisions of an old work so long as it’s not made with the idea to replace original works which is sadly what’s done here more often than that.
I can’t speak for remakes that existed before 2010s, but some did get made out of necessity, and not out of disregard to the originals.
that said even with a modern world, good remakes can theoretically still exist but there’s sadly a lot of uhhhh, this will be worded awkwardly on purpose, but “bad examples of good examples”. In layman terms, I see people use RE2 remake as a good example of a remake when in my opinion all RE remakes are kinda trash turn off your brain entertainment. RE5 remake Will seriously neee to do something crazy.
Ignore the ramble. Only the first paragraph was a response to your message but I didn’t feel the need to segregate the message…. Sorry.
