Introduction
Dawn of the Tiberium Age (DTA) is a stand-alone mod that combines and enhances Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert using a heavily customized Tiberian Sun engine. Featuring all 4 factions (GDI, Nod, Allies and Soviets) with extremely polished gameplay, DTA allows you to mix and match the factions as you'd like in tons of new multiplayer maps and challenge yourself in dozens of original missions.

Game Features
  • 73 new singleplayer missions, 52 new co-op missions and almost 200 original multiplayer/skirmish maps!
  • Enhanced mode brings competitive balance and new units that stay loyal to the spirit of the original games
  • Advanced AI makes enemies more threatening. In the newest update the AI can kite and attack priority targets with aircraft units
  • Classic mode for the enjoyers of the very original experience
  • Active multiplayer community on Discord
  • Stand-alone - the original games are not required!
  • New custom map editor for creating your own maps!

If you were hoping to play as the Scrin there is Combined Arms:
For Linux users you should be able to play DTA using Wine or Proton. I tried using Lutris using wine GE and it works fine. Definitely experiment on what works best for you!

Huh... cool, so it mashes everything together, does it? I remember really enjoying Red Alert back in the day.

This is amazing. I knew that there were still active mods for the old C&C games, but to have something this massive still be active is honestly amazing. It really is a testament to just how tenacious the C&C fans are. It also doesn't help that we haven't had a good C&C game since Westwood was absorbed into the EA machine and died. ;_;

I'm definitely downloading this. I always get an RTS itch every few years that I scratch with Warcraft II Tides of Darkness (my first introduction to RTS games and still one of my favorites), and C&C has always been near and dear to my heart. Godspeed to the modders for keeping this project and love for C&C alive.

At some point I wanted to try to finish Red Alert 2 again, but it refused to run properly in Wine back in the days, constantly crushing.

OpenRA has few “ra2” mods (even kinda official one), but those are quests with heavy lifting .NET (hell noooo). Some guy even uploaded original files, which could be found on GitHub surprisingly. Anyway, I gave up.

Now seeing this raised my RTS mood…

Although I still like RA2 and Yuri’s Revenge more than classic C&C titles. Probably because of nostalgia for LAN skirmishes we had back at high school. I was mostly defeated. Good old times.

Same here, WC2 and later AoE for me, though I was never any good at RTSes haha.

Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge work mostly fine using Proton today. Though you may want to check the protondb page to see fixes if you want to play on Steam.

You can also make it work with CNCNET by following this guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3175193520&searchtext=cncnet

I guess you could say CaC, but it sounds unflattering, haha.

Man finally something worthy of a PC Master race attention and status , these feeble minded console and Nintendo fanboys been hard to deal with , sorry console peasants this is a PC thing only.

Btw i heard not very good stuff about openRA as in it's RA1 when it comes to looks but plays differently like heavy tank being available after building the service depot which is lame as hell.....

Yeah, this is not a problem anymore, it works even in web browser now!

I was just curious how’s OpenRA handles RA2 gameplay. But it appears to be more like a base toolkit for modders than ready to use stuff.

Actually the common problem with old PC games is the vanilla versions like “v1.00” may have various issues on modern OS API, would be Windoze 11 or WINE 11. You have to apply official or unofficial patches to fix performance, graphics, stability, etc. Classic StarCraft is a notable example here too. I found some preinstalled and pre-patched RA2 on IArchive, works like a charm on wide screen. Best wishes for those kind people who shared it.
