Thank you CAPCOM
I've played almost all the Onimusha games and really liked them, the only faulty thing i found in some was the camera angle in some stages, you missed action and made the game more difficult and at some points unplayable. Yesterday i saw many cool things about this new entry that excited me.
The gameplay looks awesome i hope it feels this way also with a controller, the cinematics are so good i was stunned. I watched both trailers English and Japanese and through my experience i noticed that the lip movement was in Japanese, when the main character told ''Yabai'' meaning ''dangerous'' in the English trailer says ''Not Good'' and has an Australian like accent. Check them out both and you will understand if you have seen many titles that came both in English and Japanese, also some experience through anime.
Now i will explain why i started this Thread by typing Thank You CAPCOM. This video game series is no stranger to using actors, both dead and alive, for its protagonists. Takeshi Kaneshiro played Samonosuke Akechi in Onimusha: Warlords, while subsequent installments used Yūsaku Matsuda (who died of bladder cancer in 1989 at the age of 40) and Jean Reno as face models for its protagonists.
“The protagonist of this game is a fierce young samurai, constantly moving from one bloody and gritty fight to the next,” the game’s official website reads. “To cement this image of a striking samurai, Capcom has turned to none other than the late, iconic Japanese samurai movie legend Toshiro Mifune to star as the face model for this rendition of Miyamoto Musashi.”
Toshiro Mifune died of multiple organ failure in 1997 at the age of 77, but the impenetrable barrier of death hasn’t stopped Capcom from digitally skinning the legendary actor’s likeness for Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Mifune’s appearance in Onimusha: Way of the Samurai was done with the full cooperation of Mifune Productions, the company the actor established in 1962 and which presumably owns his likeness today.
I think this move will help the company selling more, the game looks really good i hope it also is in the gameplay. A must play for me 100% because i am a fan of the Onimusha Series and Toshiro Mifune. I almost forgot, Onimusha anime in late 2023, since Miyamoto Musashi (Legendary Ronin) appeared there as well. The show’s creators were similarly proud of the digital necromancy they performed to transpose Mifune’s face from the real world to animation in the marketing campaign leading up to its release.
Can't wait for this one, i hope you enjoyed reading thanks. Please tell us about the Onimusma series and what you think about this new entry, or games you loved that the characters in them are real actors not only in voice but in appearance in any console new or old doesn't matter. Until my next Thread, see you.
