One Piece is the greatest anime I've ever watched. I'm 26 now, but I've been watching anime since I was 9. The first anime I ever saw was Beyblade, though I didn't even know it was anime at the time. The first anime I consciously watched as 'anime' was Naruto – I wish I could forget it just to experience it again. If you asked me to choose the best among all the anime I've watched so far, I'd say One Piece without hesitation. It doesn't just focus on friendship or getting stronger in a typical way; it tells you the story of life itself. It doesn't give you a goal – it teaches you how to find your own. Oda-sensei is truly a master mangaka. I just wish I'd been born in Toriyama-sensei's era...

Read yotsuba, then you'll see a masterpiece
Of course, I find these comedy manga funny too, but the work that resonated with me the most was Kenji Inoue's Grand Blue – it perfectly matched my sense of humor. However, the One Piece I mentioned earlier was something else entirely – a work that taught me life lessons. There's a massive difference between the two.

I never watched it or read it. To freaking long but I watched a tiny bit when my partner was watching it.
I do love Donquixote Doflamingo and Rebecca and Robin och Boa.

Of course it's long—it's been running since 1997! But I truly think you should give it a chance (if you can spare the extra time, that is). In my opinion, it's the greatest anime to go global since Dragon Ball.

I know I was 12-13 when I discovered it on pocket next to Dragon balls. Like the only animes that existed in my country when I was a kid was Dragon ball, Sailor moon and one piece.

I maight give the remake a try as I heard the remake is done to get new fans interested so it will have less fillers and so on.

But yeah Dragon Ball, one piece. and even gundam are series I like nevered paid atention to when they came out and now they are so damn long.

Heck I even gave up on Naruto and bleach. I saw Naruto to EP 24 of shibuden not watched it sense and I was gave up on bleach around when Arankar was introduced.

Honestly the longest anime´s I ever watched to end was Legend of the galactic heroes and Macross.

It’s a masterpiece but I don’t like it’s current direction, feels like Oda’s throwing shit at the wall tbh

such a funny manga the way he tells the storie is great
its just a master piece how it mix serious problem with comedy

the anime is so true to the manga which make the anime good

um, wrong again??

I think they're maintaining this pace because it's finally time to wrap up the story, and I accept that. After all, even the original voice actors of the main characters have started to change due to health issues.

I meant the manga, I didn’t watch the anime.

people here be complaining One Piece is too long wait until they've seen how many episodes of Sazae-San there are.

i won't say it's the best because there's a whole bunch of shit in the anime that could've been better without, obviously #1 is fillers (although some were alright, even though i don't know what's truly filler or not since i don't read manga), #2 is the goddamn recaps and flashbacks holy shittttt the worst is still Enies Lobby, that was like 4 or 5 back to back fuckin recap episodes mannnnn

and there are some downright annoying characters like that HOHO ball motherfucker in the Skypiea arc, i legit hated hearing them speak i swear

another thing is how characters NEVER DIED early on 😂 😂
the only true first death was Ace, and i feel like ever since then, Oda decided "alright, the death switch has been flipped at last, there's no turning back" because back in Alabasta arc, the hawk guardian guy was supposed to die, but then he lived because shounen manga 😂 and same with the father of the angel girl in Skypiea, he should've died too man, like cmon

but coming from someone who picked up One Piece from episode 1 around the end of March of 2024, and caught up to the most recent episode which was 1122 (before going on break) on November 3 of 2024, i can say that One Piece truly is one hell of a ride

i get how people say wAaAh iT's ToO lOnG and it makes sense, because in all honestly the series could, in actuality, just be 600-700 episodes long without any filler+flashback+recap
but i would say that One Piece is a personal journey, and it's a commitment and something you live side by side with
i literally breezed through the whole anime up to 1122 in a span of what, 8 months, but then i found myself being unable to get enough of it now

sorry for the long post, i just hope some people out there could give it a chance, even if it's in the form of the edited version provided by OnePace so that they don't have to deal with the fillers and recaps and get pure story
of course it still is your choice, and whether you feel it's worth the time investment or not is up to you, but if the show isn't to your liking on the first few episodes, then it just ain't for you
i liked it from the very start, SURPRISINGLY, i reeeeally loved the art style and the feel and the music most of all holy crap they had a whole damn orchestra for the music, and the first OP is still my favourite

once again, i'm not telling people to GO WATCH IT, but rather as a wiser man now, i see my folly of shitting on things without even trying it, hell, i didn't even know shit about one piece before i even tried it
cos like it or not, One Piece is technically retro (1999), and is truly culturally relevant
i would say liking One Piece now is classy, and the opposite, boorish

it's long as shit, but it's a life journey, and the characters just feel like the canon characters of anime in general
it's not the best, cos it obviously has its flaws, but i actually fuckin love it now

did you know i was one of the biggest one piece haters, along with dragon ball 😂
oh once upon a time, how things change eh

I want to read/watch one piece but there's just way too much these days so I just give up on that idea
