Similar to my "one console for life" thread: if you were only allowed to play one retro handheld for the rest of your life, which would you choose?

Assume that:
  • You have access to the entire library (including QoL hacks and fan translations)
  • You have all peripherals and add-ons for the system
  • You have people to play with, either locally or online (or both)
  • You CANNOT play other systems' games, even through emulation or backwards-compatibility
Personally I think I'd go with the DS (or more specifically the DSi XL)... There's way too much variety in terms of games, and the library is massive. I'd miss Monster Hunter though.

I'd go with the DS too, I have very fond memories with it, and the variety of games it has is a massive appeal to me, the fact you don't even have to worry about regional bios or whatevs to play games is a plus as well.

Ghost Trick, SMT Strange Journey and Devil Survivor(although Overclocked is even more peak), Solatorobo, Ouendan duology+EBA, TWEWY, DQ games, Mario Kart DS, Jump Ultimate Stars, GTA Chinatown Wars, Pokemon BW duology, Pokemon Conquest, Another Code, Kyle Hyde duology, the Castlevania trio, Radiant Historia, the best PVZ port, Biohazard Deadly Silence and Kirby games

the answer is very clear

Chose the 3DS for having all the peak 4th gen Monster Hunter games (though Capcom shafted the 3DS overseas for the best version of the last, good thing fans corrected this).

The PSP would have been the other choice for having great entries too.

Easy, PSP

an handheld pc so with emulation can cover everything , too bad that sadly space is low for keep all stored and price for hardrives going up these times

For me..well I would say the PsP great handheld with many banger games sadly I barely own any 😢 but well we assume in this question that I get the whole library and then I sax PSP

Liked MedEvil on it and also Modnation which is the game why I wanted a PSP as a kid.
My Second answer would have been the Nintendo Ds

The Nintendo DS.

We can talk about its massive library forever, but I just need two specific games, and I'm content for an odyssey that would take generations to come.

The only two games I ever need!

I love these games so much! every single notch of game design here just clicks and invokes so much delight and whimsy!!

I also do want to sometimes lay about a midnight porch gazing at the world below drenched and coveted by the rain playing Hotel Dusk: Room 215 and it's sequel Last Window: The Secret of Cape West.

I love you, Kyle Hyde.
