Once great YouTubers who turned into the worst version of themselves (without taking any names)

Well I only know few Youtubers but I'm disappointed that SethTzeentach's sense of humor died recently. He got "serious" like a teen kid and old people who wait to die any minute lol.

1) Perhaps SethTzeentach got famous due to his classic meme:

You may have remembered it or not, but I guess he used his whole "humor energy" in this video alone lol.

And then to make money (he is proud member of the Merchant's guild™) he decided to review weird video games and this is when I was like "hey that kid decided to put his sense of humor into good use". So he was kinda opposite of Angry Video Game Nerd. He is not angry or serious, he actually find good stuff in weird video games he reviews so you can learn "hmm this game is actually not bad and it may be my favorite!!!". So he had his own sense of humor he improved over the years but recently he clearly just publishes videos to pay off his debt due to his gacha girl drop BS in gacha video games or something, he is so desperate and "off" in the way he recycles same jokes as how Crapcom recycles assests to release new Resident Evil games. What a shame!!!! Another Meme Lord™ has fallen!!! lolol

Another thing, even when his videos had ads they were funny. Now they were just time waster BS lol.
I think he still does a good video from time to time, my problem is when he covers those random indies as he tries to actually make a review (since they are actually paying him) as opposed of his older videos about 90s games that are more like shitposts. but I still enjoy stuff like his league of legends video

Yeah I was going to mention this one too. Did a bunch of "charity" fundraising events and then never donated the money. Acted like it was no big deal because "he didn't spend it" (it was still sitting in an account after many YEARS)

What a Complete disappointment
Agree. The lie was the worst offense. He didn't even try.
Honestly, charity fundraising youtube streams are the biggest scam ever and I'd suggest that caring people donate directly to the charities. The amount of youtubers I'd trust with those responsibilities I could count with my hand. Plus there's no benefit to the youtuber collecting the money other than them taking a portion of the money for their own benefit so you are always better off donating straight to the charity. And I rarely see youtubers showing receipts on the donations so you aren't guaranteed to see the full amount going to charity.
Correct. There's a reason why charities are strictly regulated by legislation. Scams are, unfortunately, an everyday occurrence, especially on the web...

I will name them. idubbbz. Dude was an unstoppable force back when he released the content cop on ricegum. Everybody loved him, and it looked like he could do no wrong. Then he got a girlfriend, and everything went downhill for him. He became the guy he made fun of on content cop, everybody views him as a joke now, and his reputation is beyond repair.
*Takes note*: "Having a GF ruins men." lol
A YouTuber that I used to watch from time to time was caught stealing charity money.
But the point of charity money is stealing it for your own good!!! Make the money a charity money for yourself so it's still charity money, innit??!!! lol
There was also a history youtuber who also dabbled in gaming topics that I liked, but recently changed his focus on reaction videos and pandering to anti-woke folks. It seems like anti-woke is a safe way to get views for a lot of youtubers and when they fall into that trap that's usually when I hit the unsubscribe button. Also gaming channels who dabble into politics are generally pretty awful. I don't mind informed, nuanced opinions but they only offer shallow, uninformed takes on important topics.
Well seriously I dislike this aspect of society. They live according to the subjective assessment of people. They avoid "negative opinion" like they would die if people had stated a negative opinion about themselves. So, this woke stuff and anti-woke stuff just another side of the same medallion. Not many people actually care but just to "go with the flow" and increase their "popularity" they just preach whatever is popular lol.
Reading this and taking notes. I dont know much about youtubers and streamers but sometimes I think about making my own stream based on gaming and game development. I really dont want to get famous or anything but would be nice to make some extra income like lots of other people are doing. Wish I started years ago because it takes time but I might be starting soon
Would this income worth paying taxes over? lol

In some countries, you need to pay taxes when your income is raised above a certain level or the tax you should pay increases. Gotta check these stuff out. If you have an income but you don't pay taxes they may jail you so shit is very serious in some countries.
why do so many reviewers go bald?
My brother's generic answer is "they lack iron" like he learned in some random article or something lolol. Who would have thought men had to eat iron to keep their hair exist? Professor X was born without decent iron level then so he was always bald!!!! He is clearly not professor of iron or biology then lolol.
I can only think of two cases that would fit this thread. One was a dude who talked about hidden and unused stuff in video games. It was my first exposure to that kind of info and I thought it was fascinating. Unfortunately, time gaps between uploads started getting wider and wider to the point he'd upload once a year and more than half of the video was him complaining about his life. I can sympathize but I have my own problems so I moved on.
My poor guy believes people watching his videos to watch him, not because whatever he was publishing about is interesting. That's fundamental delusion of people. In my experience people never like you, they like what you do but when they hate they even hate your aunt lol.
no i mean specifically reviewers. They go full shaved head.
Men's logic is: "Better don't have hair at all than looking like a granpa". Or it's a fashion statement or something lol. It's not unusual when men wanna look like some popular sports player or something even if it means sacrificing their hair.

To be onest, it is better to let go rather than clinging to something that doesn't look good at all.

Well for example charisma is over 9000 here lolol:

Or do something like this lol:

There was a certain movie reviewer (you may know him), who I used to enjoy watching. However, after tearing apart actual good movies and being exposed for treating his employees poorly, I stopped watching him.
I think I know who you're talking about. He made a lousy film back in 2010 that his fans blindly worshipped. That was when my interest in him dropped.

A YouTuber that I used to watch from time to time was caught stealing charity money.
Perhaps it was just resting in his account? :P

I have two examples in mind, although I know these descriptions may be applicable to a few youtubers.

A once beloved fictional lore channel slowly inserts their personal political beliefs into videos which are supposed to be about world building and all the diversity of governance such setting brings.
To the point anything not aligned with who ever they're voting for irl is portrayed as a negative, despite having portrayed numerous fictional governments bias free for a solid decade before the late 2010's.

A video game reviewer who increasingly chastises consumers for refusing to support certain games, whilst supposedly championing consumer rights. Arguing that people should still buy games at full price before making a decision on their quality, personal finances be damned. Repeatedly dismisses criticism of franchises as trolling whilst repeatedly telling their audience to leave if they don't fall in line with their personal views... Only to immediately complain they've hit a glass ceiling and is bitter of stagnant viewership numbers.

Both of you can't disassociated escapist fiction with reality and you deserve the worse.
Being politically neutral is a lost art.

Oh, yeah. The more I read that, the more I recognised the person you're talking about to be Breadtube JActivist scumbag [censored to fit with this thread]. They-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named is a prime example of a reviewer and content creator who was once sane and made plenty of good points, but overtime let their far-left leaning friends and addiction to social media poison them.

The end results? What I genuinely believe to be a dominant, hateful, insane personality in control of the body of an older, normal one. They are honestly living proof that left-wing culture warriors are just as bad, if not worse, than right-wing ones. And yeah, They are my honourable induction to this thread.

There was someone from the YOGCAST crew who used to post really good gameplay videos with funny commentary on top, then she got really mad at her audience for asking for more content (!) and never backed down. Fastest unsubscribing I have ever done.

You can't be pro-consumer whilst demanding consumer support media simply because it's inclusive.
That has no objective affect on the quality of the product.
You likewise can't show critical thinking skills if by default you think a reason why a form of media wasn't successful, especially if its from a franchise which had previously been beloved is because of nebulous, undefined "hate"
No one is obligated to support a product. Stop trying to gaslight people into blindly paying for something because it ticks a checkbox you as a reviewer personally support. And please, if your audience disagrees with your opinion take the time to learn why. Stop just telling them to go away. If you're actively perusing a purge simply because some one was attempted to explain why they hold a difference of opinion you are not the "good guy".

Being politically neutral is a lost art.
I prefer any content creators to be either politically neutral or anarchist lolol.

However one of my friend mentioned the fan pressure of most popular singers around so it "opened my eyes" about all the BS famous people has to endure in social settings in a way I never thought before. For example "Taylor Swift". She is supposed to be some famous American singer, so this happens as much as my friend explained: "If you wanna be politically neutral fans bash you for being ignorant, and they wanna know which side you are on so they will keep supporting you or not", then it means content creators whose existence heavily tied to fans "has no choice" but to make annoucement to make people know where they stand and naturally they would wanna play "safe" and choose whatever is popular. In recent years what I see is people are so focused on American society and therefore its "social sides" beyond of politics so people who care about American stuff pressures what they think about American society and what's going on there. Be ignorant then they label you "fool", choose a side and they will hate you. Not many people can keep being "neutral" because not many people are decent with words.

So these guys cannot make money or they may lose their "purpose" to attract fans so what they do can keep being matter, so due to social pressure "they go with the flow".

I think content creators shouldn't be so dependent on fans and all, and they can just say "I don't give a shit about political stuff" and call it a day. People lose fans and will have haters no matter what, but I guess being famous increases more social pressure IDK so they go "insane" and "panic" and in confusion they hit themselves like a pokemon lol.

If I was a Youtuber my content would be mix of humor and anarchist stuff in the way to correct society but it would be just a tool for humor and critizing the world when the topic is related. Otherwise I would keep myself in the context of video games because I know no one would care about my existence and the worth of your existence depends on how worthy what you did recently is. People will like what you do, and will forget what you did before. People forget who they liked before, they constantly judge and assess what people currently did. If you cannot keep them impressed they will forget about you. Whoever like what you do will expect what you did as the minimum quality they use to compare with what next you do to judge you so if what you do "get worse" they will forget about you and start to hate you. So you either keep doing what you did "best" or you should always do more than your best, never "drop your quality". For example Nintendo sets their quality so low it's easy to remain there and they never drop their quality so their current games looks like 3D NES!!!! lol

Perhaps as content creators get famous, and thus they taste the "easy money" they change to make more money because they have no real job so they are nothing without their fans. In this greed they just suck on whatever seems will attract more fans. In a way what I see is a desperate salesperson moment here. This ain't a life for me!!! lol

Being politically neutral goes out the window when living under fascism.

who is "you guys" ?
I'm just saying this thread is getting increasingly political and thats not allowed here and I've seen plenty of threads get locked for it. Literally nobody mentioned Trump.

Basically, most of the YouTubers I watched years ago ended up becoming unbearable, and others ended up giving scams.

why do so many reviewers go bald?
Because the Norwood Reaper spares no one.

I was going to vague post about a certain Bozo I used to have huge respect for but nah, not worth it!
-------------------------

Instead I will vague post about someone else that just annoys me now

WITHOUT naming them!
I unsubscribed from a Gaming News YouTuber recently after being subscribed since 2020

  1. He literally stretching the video to hit 10-20 minutes marks making Sponsorblock required to HIT the highlight of the video! (I love you SponsorBlock)
  2. Has taken very horrible sponsors (I LOVE YOU SPONSORBLOCK)
  3. Repeats himself a lot,
  4. Literally just reads the articles, Reddit and twitter posts!
  5. Spreads (unintentionally) MISINFORMATION from said articles, EXTREMELY DANGEROUS because he has a MASSIVE subscribers count!
  6. Does 0 research of his own,
  7. Recently started injecting his own face on the thumbnails like he is doing sloppy reaction content
  8. He can't take criticism about his professional work as a voice actor and had a meltdown. ::surprised-pikachu
  9. Glazes extremely certain companies and Game Developers

who is "you guys" ?

Yeah... While politics are deeply-ingrained in our every day lives (until we buy an island somewhere and elect me dictator ;D), they have no place on this forum.

Please don't bring them up, everyone.

And ON-topic: Just FUCK certain video essayist who is very well-known and whose content I used to admire.

The deeper I look, the more it seems like his (many) great points are neutralized by his inability to keep personal vendettas away from his content, so you end up consuming hours of isolated good points flanked on all sides by personal attacks against people who largely hadn't wronged him.

Speaking of video essayist, topical because I was reminded of him today from tumblr because of his lastest video!

My opinion about a certain Melodramatic-voice video essayist after his Fear and Hunger video got REALLY Soured!

About the Fear and Hunger one, HE DIDN'T EVEN TALKED ABOUT THE CHARACTERS AND THE GAME'S LORE
and his annoying narrative after years
"i'm going to start talking very slow and calm with low volume but THEN I'LL RAISE MY VOICE!
OH! OOOH HEAVENS THIS GAME IS SO SCARY! AND EFF UP! 😩 Horrors beyond human comprehensions upon me"
Sad Face GIF

GOOD RECOMMENDATIONS
If you want a good video about Fear and Hunger 1 and 2 lore and characters, please watch Worm Girl's videos
Her F&U 1 video which is amazing! She does a great job editing the different characters' timelines together to create an amazing narrative while exploring their backstories and the world building!
