Old video game trope you like and miss?

The terminals in the early FPS games like Marathon. Reading through them to understand the story was a good way to balance out all the massive slaughter you were doing.View attachment 18193View attachment 18196
I fucking love the Marathon series (also holy shit the timeline, you don't wanna know the timeline).
I'll always love green on black matrixes.

It sounds weird but, catchy loading screens, I don't know, maybe I'm just an anomaly.
I do miss "cool" looking loading screens instead of a small "now loading" or a simple icon because they don't want to bother translating.

I miss the typical long and complex dungeons. Open world has been killing these.
I'm fed up of Open World honestly.

Well, with online maps and minimaps it's also harder to make a complex one.

GOD I miss manuals, a good one really made a difference, like Twisted Metal Black's which was stylized as a journal of one of the characters.
True. I'd even accept if they made e-manuals more like the older ones.
