Odd quirks you have

No, I don't mean to start a My Hero Academia RP!
I mean personal quirks that are interesting, strange or otherwise noteworthy.

I'll name one of mine: I like sorting things. For any given thing I will create an internal sorting system in my mind and abide by it. For example, appliance remotes: I'll elect a place to leave them at and always make sure they are there when not in use, and properly sorted in some way. In my particular case, I sort by remote control height - the shorter ones on the left, the taller ones on the right in increasing order.

As you can imagine, this (and cases like it) are the source of some internal suffering and frustration for me as most people in my household do not value keeping things organized and in their due places nearly as much as I do, but on the other hand, reiterating my system does make me feel like there is at least some order in the maelstrom of chaos.

So what about you guys? anything you'd like to share?

I wake up at the same minute every early morning, heat two of the same pastries in the oven, make the same kind of tea, make a second cup when I grab the second pastry, and then return to bed at 6, regardless of whether I'd need to be up again soon or not. There's lots of music I have that's reserved exclusively for that time, and even certain games now and then. If I'm staying somewhere else, I check before anything whether nearby stores have them. This began in 2016, and then came back in 2021, and has since persisted to this day. I don't think I'll ever stop loving it.

Obviously I don't have a 100% success rate, but I'm never quite the same until I get to do it again.

I always leave my phone and tablet on the same spot, at exactly the same distance from each other every night before going to bed.

When i start to think very hard about something, i tend to pace back and forth, the same when i wait for something. I can legit walk in circles in a tiny room for 30 minutes if i'm thinking about something.

I have the sorting quirk as well lol. Can't see an out of place object that i automatically go to fix it. Other quirk that i have is daydreaming. I fantasize about random scenarios of games, series and other medias that i consume, it's like an edit that i do in my mind lol.

I do this, too! I've been pacing ever since I was a kid, and I strongly doubt I'll ever stop. Gets the brain going, y'know? ?

That's awesome, actually! since you can rework scenarios in your mind, games, movies and series with poor plot development and endings probably don't bother you nearly as much as it would most, I wish I had that power haha.

Haha, well, maybe when you take your canine friend to a walk you'll be able to satiate your need for pacing. Just imagine you are in an infinite corridor and can only pace forward.

I kinda have a mix of peoples things here. I have to sort things a certain way, I pace and think and daydream, etc

A quirk I personally have is that I tend to focus on things and people. It helps me get things done sometimes.

Sometimes when I walk from the train station to the university I usually think about other things, I even see the scenery during the walk so that the trip doesn't feel so heavy or boring. And when I think a lot I stick out my tongue a little to concentrate better (mostly in tests or when I am working with digital files)

My concentration reaction is furrowing my brow. I developed forehead creases very early on in life because of this haha.

did anyone ever take offense at you sticking out your tongue? happened to my bro in school, I just couldn't for the life of me explain to the teacher that it's just a nervous thing, she was super pissed

Nope: because I only stick out the tip of my tongue and in the place where I study everyone is doing their own things so nobody cares. But dude your teacher is evil.

Yeah, it sounds like a terrible over reaction. Seems to me this teacher is quite insecure about her own sense of authority; not a good trait for a teacher.

It can be anything, not necessarily related to video games, but not something "serious"! Only silly, innocuous habits allowed!

I'll start:
I almost always watch youtube videos at 480p because I feel like I waste CPU usage if I go higher.

If I drive under a freeway interchange near here, I have to see what time it is when I pass under the point where they meet. If I don't, the car will blow up. Who decided this, I don't know.
