News NSW2U and NSWDL got hit by Nintendo

Front Mission 3
Raidou Remaster

oh wait.. are those in Steam did never bothered to look for them outside the Switch.
Front Mission 3 Demake uses extensive AI for just about everything, from the icons to the landscapes. I never see a more disservice to a great game like Front Mission 3.

Is there a place to be noticed when Steam has free games?
Discord servers are the only place that comes to mind, I have it in my server and it will tell me time from time when theres a free game to grab. Along with Epic and a few other sites. Its a bot that will tell you when something is up and free to grab.

Steam has tons of groups for that. You join the group and on your Steam's Activity page that's like Twitter's home page you see that they announced which giveaways of games are there and all.

Find the groups here: https://steamcommunity.com/search/groups#text=free

See their announcement here: https://steamcommunity.com/my/home/

These groups also announce free games from other platforms too. There are some websites that sometimes giveaway cd keys you can activate on Steam or some other platforms.

To be honest, Nintendo's attitude makes them quite hateable. Like, you are a multibillion-dollar corporation and are being offended by some piracy site? That is extremely petty.

Nintendo more like petty-tendo. Am I right?

The goal of a company is naturally to make money, right? So Nintendo logic is making money in any way by even specifically chasing legal cases to make money.

When a company goes the extra length to even sue some random guy whose legal name is Mario so he decided to call his shop "Super Mario", it make you think how Nintendo probably does really messed up shit to make money beyond just video game industry.

I can imagine they have a finger in drug and human trafficking too, perhaps worse but I leave it up to your imagination lolol.

Nintendo seems to have a legal department that is always on pro-active mode. Whenever things are quiet for a while they just need something to do, anything they can rationalize an excuse to go after because it's their only job. Any theoretical penny they can squeeze out of any source however big or small, they make a point to do so.

That said, I kinda wish the piracy and emulation community would just stop touching fire entirely for the sake if its own broader preservation. Not to say it's our fault or it should be this way, but until conditions change around legal systems and copyright freedoms, it seems like there should just be a universal policy to never develop or distribute anything within the realm of a currently active console generation.

don't know what to put so here's my Four of a Kind screenshot in Dragon Quest 11

Best diversion tactic, ever.🤣

But yeah, Nintendo's just wasting their time with trying to combat piracy. For each site that gets taken down, a few others will probably have been established.

In Japan let's say there are Big Bosses of law firms called Big 4. They can even make Jesus punished by death penalty lol: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Four_(law_firms)

So Nintendo has an army made of Big 4 and some global ones that are master at their own areas as in which part of the world they tend to operate. You can run but you cannot hide lolol.

Yep. Top 1 mistake pirate communities does is asking donation. It ruins, let's say "fair trade" laws among many because you make money from something you don't own but someone else owns it. It's like stealing in the eyes of the law. That's why Yuzu emulator legally got easy to kill.

However, law cares about severity of how many laws broken and how. Yuzu broke many laws beyond making money from the emulator which is strike 1. For example no one is allowed to ruin protection systems of video game consoles but Yuzu does to run the game so this is strike 2. Yuzu was publicly shared tool that breaks protection of a legally protected device which is strike 3. Emulators trying to keep "legal" by making itself useless unless you need a file or something from the console, however it does not help at all. Nintendo stated the fact that Yuzu emulator doesn't care if people use pirated or original game, it had no pirated content check so they used this fact that Yuzu allows piracy and became a common tool that caused Nintendo to lose sell so it's strike 4. In baseball 3 strike is enough for strikeout but there is at least 4 strike here lol.

Thus emulators are beyond in legal grey area anymore, they are necessarily illegal but to make a case out of it company require to prove if an emulator is so popular that they lost sell so legal system can care about this evil crime lol.

However what emulator can be legal so even Nintendo cannot do anything?: Emulator shouldn't break protection system of the console and emulator has to have strict check on being able to understand if a game is pirated or not. So long story short, emulator doesn't use a file from the console, it does not break protection system of the console and/or the game and you can only play a legal copy of the game. But since consoles uses protection systems it makes it impossible to not require at least a file from the console and emulator can run the game without breaking protection systems that's legally protected.

It seems like more maybe the idea of proprietary locked down game consoles is just kind of idiotic when all consoles are either just a PC with some added hardware and software, or in the switch and switch 2's case, a phone with some added hardware and software and a large part of emulating modern consoles comes down to cracking the built in security on the consoles and not really emulating some kind of exotic chipset.

Sure, anything about Japan likely to have a connection to yakuza as it's how it's in any country that has popular mafias.

However about name of Nintendo, when you know Japanese and cultural context what I make sense is this:

It would make sense for them to start a business by making its name a combination of what is important for Japanese people as a principle, so it would introduce you what the company cares about. Something like motto of the company.

In this context the sound "Nin" is like "任" would mean the principle of entrustment/responsibility. It would mean first thing the company cares about being trustable and they are responsible for their actions.

2nd sound "Ten" is like "天" would means the principle of heaven/fate/opportunity. It's harder to explain but easier to say it's not literally "heaven" but more about "good fortune". IDK but this meaning can be because Nintendo from the start was about gamble. If not the meaning is a wish that their business will be in good fortune as it's the likely meaning. So they wish their company will be "away from curses and bad outcomes" so "they will aim and have the goal of making everything right". So it means company is not up to something bad. They are legit and morally correct, they are righteous. They do honest work and therefore they are fortunate. Do bad work and do bad things and naturally your life will be unlucky.

3rd sound "Do" is like "堂" would mean the principle of place/foundation/tradition. It means company sticks to rights and wishes for solid grounding to stay strong from bad outcomes and they will do anything to protect their ground.

So Nintendo would mean "Trustable - Fortunate - Solid" as a company motto to follow and making the core motto the company name would make you remember what you have to do, what's your goal and how to do it.

except like you just said, their legal department is always on pro-active mode, if people stop emulating the currently active consoles, their legal department will just hunt the older ones, they won't stop until they have full control and maximum profit over everything they can. if something, its actually positive for emulation to always keep active and always renewing, its what gives fuel to the "hydra" effect

And then they will start sending yakuza to anyone who didn't buy their latest Nintendo product and force them to buy it or else!!! lol
