I don't think they ever will. Its a endless loop from what I have seen. Kinda like Disney all rainbows and magic and sunshine and happy times but deep down money hungry and stinky corpo greedy nonsense. I think a lot of the fanboys need a reality check for this to even make Nintendo realize they are over doing it. Something also I am sure needs to change within the walls of Nintendo. Even then I do not think it is that simple, there's always something going on.

Not everyone downloads the games as they release. NSW2U had good torrents and served .nsz files. Was a cool site

You can load them via proton, but I'm not to quite sure on their stance regarding video game emulation since they have uptight policies up the wazoo. Steam maintains a neutral stance. It permits users to launch emulators through its platform for convenience, but it does not encourage or endorse emulation, especially of copyrighted or pirated content.

Besides piracy the number 1 reason why people use Nintendo emulators other than they don't have a way to buy the real hardware and its games because they can be expensive is Nintendo consoles are low quality.

Yes "quality" is subjective but you cannot expect most people to be okay with low FPS and low resolution games. That's why lots of people buys Switch and its games but plays the game on emulator but then Nintendo is angry. Develop a decent console people don't need emulator for a decent experience lol. This also reflects in a way people look at Switch and it's rubbish so they buy the game to ease their sense of morality but plays it on emulator.

Nintendo has no idea how PC gaming culture is popular and how it effects gaming in general. People wanna play Zelda BOTW and TOTK 10K resolution and 9999 FPS with their quantum computer that works so fast and bends space-time the game starts to run before you decide to play the game lollol. Not to mention Reshade is so popular too. And then tons of mods and stuff are easier to enjoy on emulators especially when people may don't wanna break their console. However Nintendo seem to wanna milk their cult by minimizing cost and work by maximaxing profit as long as they can and when they had stop making profit they would shift their whole business operation into something else. IDK they would stop selling Nintendo consoles when they cannot profit so they would open a maid cafe called "Nin-Hen-Do" where people will play games with maids like "hide and seek", lego or something lol.
