Non-E3 Week expectations, predictions, and dream announcements

We've got a busy week ahead.
State of Play, Summer Game Fest, XBOX Games Showcase + E-Day Direct...

It’s already a tradition, so... What are your predictions, dream announcements, and expectations?

As for me, I’m just hoping to finally find out the release dates for the 2026 XBOX lineup. Campaign Evolved, E-Day, Dungeons II, they’re all supposed to come out before Modern Warfare 4, which is set for October if I remember correctly. Dangerously close to GTA VI.

As for State of Play? I don’t have a PlayStation, so maybe I’d be interested in news about Marvel TOKON and little else, maybe to see if they announce anything about Gravity Rush or Rayman, which has been leaked so much lately.

Summer Game Fest is the event most likely to feature the big announcements from third-party developers; I’d expect to see something related to Mega Man Dual Override or even something more.

A lot can happen this week, but there’s definitely going to be a lot of buzz everywhere.

I'm crossing my fingers for Final Fantasy 7 Remake REMAKE. That's right, a remake that remakes Final Fantasy 7 Remake into an actual remake of Final Fantasy 7. I think this might be the year we finally see it!

I'm genuinely excited for E-Day as someone who preferred the look and vibe of the first Gears. Hopefully it gets back to that horror vibe.

Even though I love Halo, my expectations are low for Campaign Evolved because I don't care for the UE5 look. That said, I'll still play it for the new prologue missions with Johnson.

My interest in Call of Duty games is completely gone. None of the recent ones have done anything for me.

There was a rumor that Sony's doing something with inFamous. Whether it's a new game or a remaster/remake collection, I'd like to hear about that.

None of my dream announcements will happen since most of the stuff that I'm into doesn't sell. I'd love to hear about a new Deus Ex. That's isn't happening, Eidos Montreal just laid off 124 people in March.

As for something that's possible, I'd like to see more of Clockwork Revolution since that's one new IP with a lot of potential. Hopefully Microsoft doesn't cancel it like the Perfect Dark reboot and Scalebound.

I'm just waiting for a Touhou character to appear on Street Fighter 6. (Or Tifa, Kyo or a Virtua Fighter character.)

I have no interest in watching those because I don't have those consoles. Still waiting for a new Nintendo Direct which my guess will happen on the 2nd week around June 9th or June 10th.

These shows are sadly made towards a non-gaming audience, it is made more to appeal to more non-gamer people to start gaming and to include more non-gaming people to participate in it.

TBH I'm not expecting anything, I think I finally have a lot of backlogs to play and now that emulation is reaching golden era, it is time to become uncle.

I dislike these kinds of shows but if they are real gaymers we would get more news on dotHack series and CAVE would release more on the Dodonpachi project they announced on twitter. My no-remakes rule has an exception for the IMOQ games please port them with the combat of G.U. or .hack//Link. Also, is Valve involved? Would love to hear more of the Steam machine. Seems cool

My expection and hope (probably) will never happen...

Would love to see a sequel to Onee Chanbara series, but the game might upset modern audience because it has too much bikini (not a good idea to announce it at event like this anyway).

A new Kamen Rider games would be a great fanservice, since the last one is for Zero-One, and we have Saber, Revice, Geats, Gotchard, Gavv, and currently Zeztz in the waiting room. Preferably it similar gameplay to Onee Chanbara or Devil May Cry, fits better than Versus/Musou in my opinion.

Very unlikely but PreCure RPG, but the target audience of the franchise is young girls, so yeah... not a great idea.

Yet another live-service shooter. We need more of those. Dear game developer, we as a gamer actually love Concord and Highguard, we just don't have time to play at the time, but now we are ready. So please do another one.

I'm not expecting much to be honest, there is rumor that there will be one big major surprise at the State of Play, I'll watch it Live, but unless this is Bloodborne 2 or Silent Hill 1 remake, I don't care all that much just purely for personal taste reasons.

GTA 6 is really all that matters in the modern gaming sphere at the moment for me, just waiting on that summer marketing push.

I also wish Sony would announce the Bloodborne remake so we can move on. It reminds me when there would be gaming shows and all anyone would talk about would be No Man's Sky or Fallout 4. Bloodborne is a great game, definitely my favorite game of its ilk in terms of art and combat (along with Lies of P), BUT the people who really love it can be obnoxious.

They’ve got more than half of the Wild Arms series remastered, be cool to see the last few and XF together on psn. There’s a few JRPGs floating around like RE:Noir and .Hack zero, might be too early for news on those though. A reasonable dream announcement for me would be Alundra 1 & 2 remasters, less reasonable would be Gravity Rush 3

Pixel art is fine if the art style is unique enough and there are many 3D indies made in this decade.

I agree about Souls like, Metroidvanias and farming games.
