I am already informed that two subsequent posts by the same author are merged, and this cannot be avoided.
However, when you post the second message, no notification is sent (neither red dot at the top nor push notification).
It happened recently that a user mentioned my username in a second post, and I looked rude for not responding; In reality I never received his notification.
In my opinion this is a serious flaw of the site, and not of little importance. Can this one be fixed?
I don't care that the posts are merged, but that no notification arrives, especially if you are cited/quoted, absolutely needs to be remedied. What do you all think about this?
Edit: if it is in no way possible to send notifications from following merged messages, a warning message could be added, when the merge occurs, which warns the user that no notifications to other users will be sent from there. Did I explain myself? Forgive my poor, convoluted english.??
