I *used* to have the Pro Controller until I decided that it was much better to just have the DualSense Edge
I also gave it away because I figured it wasn't worth having a controller that wouldn't work properly on an iPhone ( it was even worse when I tried to pair it on a Nothing Phone 2 )

I couldn't help but wonder if I was just one of the few unlucky people that got a Pro Controller where the buttons were practically swapped once it was connected via Bluetooth on a smartphone ? or did N do this on purpose since they only wanted it to be paired for Nintendo Switch?

I noticed first noticed it when I tried to use it playing some games through RetroArch ( like AB YX were swapped ... luckily L R were fine )
Then later when I played GTA:SA Definitive Edition ... ( had to press the Y when it should have been X (that would be triangle if this was a ps controller) to get into a car )

With the DualSense Edge and Elite Series 2 the buttons were mapped the way I was expecting it to be

So yeah was wondering if anyone else experienced this ?

Have you tried mapping the controller in any way? Like changing the inputs in the settings?

I think your phone just read the controller as an x-box controller. It's happened with me with the joycons on my laptop.

I borrowed my friend's actual Nintendo Switch ... but apparently those map settings only stayed on her console. I also tried using a remap feature on steam too ... but it didn't affect the controller itself.
I practically gave up on it and gave it away afterwards, so I can't like test now
I did read up that there were other remap programs ... but I'm kinda cautious about malware so yeah ...

Actually that makes sense ! Considering where the buttons are labelled as ... but in a ... yep ... swapped position ...

Damn that's so dumb though ... I guess in a way iOS never had a proper controller map given for the pro controller and just went with the xboxs buttons

(I just remembered I didn't have these issues on Samsung lol )

Mine was fine, but I had a wired one. Something that ended up being wrong with mine after like a month of use is the connections in the cord got messed up, don't know if I got unlucky or if the PDP Faceoff pro controllers have flimsy wiring. I had the Deluxe+ Camo Blue one, I mean I still have it and it works, you just need to angle it in such a specific way it's not worth the hassle.

If anything, the controler has a more impractical use if you have a 3DS with a bloated battery.
Yes, you can switch the battery from your 3DS to the one used on the controller.

I see, yeah I think it's good that you're careful with these kinds of stuff (especially if it's not yours)
Good thinking! ::dkapproves
