The claim that the Switch 2 is on its last legs is frequently repeated. However, strong sales figures have so far contradicted this. The fact that the new Nintendo console didn't dominate Black Friday week in the US is certainly surprising. But this doesn't mean the Switch 2 is finished. Instead, it demonstrates that gamers tastes simply differ and that price often plays a decisive role as the PS5 was significantly cheaper than a Switch 2 in many places during Black Friday week.

The Switch 2 is far from being on its last legs but if Nintendo contines with their anti-consumer bs, it might be nearing the end of its gen. Either that or the Switch 3 would flop

I don't know anyone who owns either version of the Switch, but I'll say this: the second they try to sell me an empty plastic insert as a feature, they can forget about having my money.

Honestly switch 2 to me is just like how Wii U was for Wii 0 reason to get one when a PC and PS5 outperform the switch 2. Yeah sure Switch 2 is great if you want Nintendo ONLY made games. But if your a normal gamer maybe you want the new Battlefield 6 or the new Resident evil or even Baldur´s gate 3. And there is no way in hell that a weak console can run does games with out maybe lowering texture quality and remove things.

There is a reason allot of new games are not made for the PS4 because it´s can´t handle them. A normal gamer want to have third party games as well not only Nintendo games.

I will say it like this Switch 2 is a great console for fan boys and for people that want a decent hand held and hate playing PC games.

But saying Switch 2 is competing in the console war is pure fantasy it´s not on the same level and does not even offer many similar games. Switch 2 is a great selling console that does not compete with any one as it is it´s own thing.

This. Just like people used to buy a Playstation for Madden, so too do people buy Nintendo consoles for Mario or Kirby or whatever.

Switch 2 is a great selling console that does not compete with any one as it is it´s own thing.

This too, but it's why they don't need BF6, RE9, etc. Since Wii-era, Nintendo's vibe with third party stuff is that it's a bone they're throwing out there to lure in undecided casuals. I don't have any numbers in front of me, but given the sales of something like a Mario Kart 8 for Switch, they probably made more off DLC packs for that, than they did any third party title on the platform. Maybe even multiple combined..

People bought a Playstation for Resident Evil or MGS since they were exclusively on them.

Maybe it's a bit less valable today since Microsoft has less and less Xbox exclusive games over time in favour of PC but I don't see many Sony Computer Entertainment games getting ports.

The Wii lacked BioShock or other big PS360 titles, it was fine for many.

They tried to have some of the games around the Gamecube (and the Wii U had Black Ops IIRC) yet those had a small userbase.

There were RE games on the 3DS and the Switch had ports of several of them but ultimately it's more of a side thing.
