This whole thread is gonna age like milk, most if not nearly all games will work fine in the end or have minor issues, and the games that dont get patches are most likely games no one gives a shit about anyway

So that's 0.6% incompatibility. That's really good.

Stuff like Ring Fit and other games that use the IR sensor can still be played. You can use Switch Joycons on the Switch 2. You just can't use the Switch 2 joycons for any games (or game modes) that require the IR features.

Last year, lawyers from Nintendo visited GDKChan, the creator of Ryujinxs, here in Brazil and offered him a deal to close Ryujinxs. I always thought that that deal was a job offering, and now we got confirmation that the Switch 2 runs Switch 1 games via emulation/translation layer. The plot thickens

I guess I'll keep the Switch around even after I get a Switch 2 because software emulation is never perfect.

In addition to Nintendo Switch™ 2 games, Nintendo Switch 2 can play compatible physical and digital games released on the Nintendo Switch™ system. I think it's an important thing because you'll definitely want to play your old Switch games on the Switch 2 .

They have said that Switch 1 softwares were backward compatible with the Switch 2 for months.

As for the games requiring a Switch 1 joycon I can understand, like DS games not playable on the DSi due to the lack of a GBA port.
