Nintendo Switch 2 experience

Impressive as in "a fully destructible world without using voxels on console" yeah. I'm wondering if this could get repurposed in a future game from the same people but I welcome variety as well.

Sadly DK as a franchise doesn't have the same popularity as Mario, Zelda, Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem but I am sure it sparked back the interest of people and maybe they'd buy DKC Returns HD and Tropical Freeze.

Nintendo has a great roster of IPs so this is a good opportunity to bring some back with the new hardware (without ignoring the upcoming Mario and Zelda games).
I really don't understand why Donkey Kong isn't as famous as Mario and Zelda because the DK games are just as good.

Me neither but it's probably because DKC came extremely late into the SNES' life (when the PlayStation was out and brought 3D to home) and how 2D platforming slowly became a saturated genre that also suffered from people getting bored of it (that's hypothetical but I'm certain that other genres also made people less interested).

Even Donkey Kong on the Gameboy wasn't as popular because handhelds were seen as inferior consoles compared to home ones, arcade and even computer (as Doom was also out in late '93).

So yeah, they were impressive games for the SNES but 3D came in and made people look at what's coming even if many didn't age as well.

I'm really excited about Donkey Kong 6. The game is on the right track and is getting better and better. Maybe it's better that it's not so famous, because then there's less pressure on the developers, so they can do better.

I will always love DK. There wouldn't even be a Mario without DK. Mario first appeared in HIS game.

Also, Donkey Kong Country 2 is a masterpiece.

I'm not getting a Switch 2. I didn't even get a Switch 1.

wHy would anyone use switch 2 when they can just play pc games?

mainly for Nintendo exclusives, but then again one has to wait a couple of years till release date.
But for the various shovelware and multiplatform titles, it is not worth it anymore as there are cheaper alternatives, both in hardware and software

Why would anyone use switch 2 when they can just play pc games?
I'm sorry but that's like telling a person with a bike why they wouldn't get a car instead.

PC gaming is an entirely different category and even if many games can run on it you'll have to get a decent rig, have to accept to have 99% of your games as digital purchases (unless you get an external disc drive and older games), that for compatibility issues you'll have to be ready to tinker around (or find the right .exe for your game to work thanks to old, unsupported DRM or even specific fanmade launchers to be able to run older games) among many other issues from PC.

At that point I cannot blame someone wanting to play many games available on PC on a Xbox One/Series or a Switch 1/2.

i'm just waiting(hoping) for the price to come down i genuinely enjoyed the switch 1 and it's premise but on much more capable hardware seems like it should be a winning one.

but i won't lie the current price point is ick even if it's in the range i expected it to be but at least most of the switch 1's library will play on it no strings attached and even without dedicated S2 versions can play better just due running on stronger hardware.

as for the gamekey thingy without a major legal push to block that crap companies are going to be companies and try to keep us from owning shit.

Well, I have to say I'm interested in this console but the price still bothers me.
