Nintendo shadow dropped again today with a mobile app unfortunately. The app is called Pictonico. A WarioWare-ish spinoff where you take photos of people and use the as microgames. And that's it. Also, it also has in-app purchases called volumes 1 & 2. Don't know what they are, but don't count this to last long I guess.

Has an odd MiniJava feel to it.

I remember taking pictures of myself for using as my profile pic on a bunch of GameLoft titles back in the day.

But it also feels... lacking for what's expected in 2026, even for a mobile game.

Imagine someone uses artwork of fictional characters to cheat their way through the game.

No offence meant, and I get that they are historically a giant in the video game industry,
BUT at this point why are any of you Nintendo fans. And Please Minus the nostalgia.

outside Kirby and Bananza, everything that I love is dead or ruined

I'm worried for Metroid's future after Prime 4's reception and sales

@Guinea
I got some weird thing going on now, and I actually talked to my therapist today
about it, I happened to have a tele appointment (aren't they great, FU driving to
the doc) I haven't slept since like last Thursday. Swear to God, and I'm not tired.
Everything hurts, I am outta my FUCKING mind, and I got boundless energy.
I also don't do any shit like meth or that. Shhh.... I'm a BIG pot head. So I don't
know what the F*** is going on. But I'm gonna sit here do some dabs and roll
with it.

For fun, escape from reality, lovable characters, imaginative worlds, made a deal with Nintendo to officially license my soul as a seal of quality.

Ah yes the old “use pictures” so they can keep them and do what they want with them idea LOL

Nah I don't play mobile games unless is emulator rpgs adventure escape or cards

Solid point, Nintendo is kind of a parasite at this point.

I don't think Mario, Zelda, Yoshi nor Animal Crossing are "ruined" in any way.

Sure, the new formula may not be for everyone but that's better to try new things than stagnating as people often criticised Nintendo for "doing the same thing for 30 years".

I'm worried for Metroid's future after Prime 4's reception and sales.
That could also lead to Prime 2 and Prime 3 Remastered to be made as an emergency plan but at least we got Metroid Dread as a conclusion to the plot of the mainline franchise.

Fun games and maybe just because they don't aim at trying to make realistic and cinema-like games as some devs are thinking it's the only way for a game to look good.

Also the odd experiments.

Nintendo has announced the new mobile game "Pictonico," which will be released on May 28, 2026, for iOS and Android. The game transforms your own smartphone photos into playable mini-games. The game is offered as a free download but providing a small selection of mini-games as a demo. For the full gameplay experience the additional content must be purchased. Volume 1 costs $5.99 and Volume 2 costs $7.99 . Overall, it will be across all packages be up to 80 minigames in total. The exact distribution across the individual volumes is still unclear.

I hear ya, I'm that way with Sega, except for Sonic he can just go F**K OFF, so I can identify with ya.
But like I said earlier "nostalgia" becomes a major issue in this equation. And sometimes those rose colored lenses crack or that warm rosy color fades. Then you see the bones underneath. It was then I realized, "Hey Sega sucks ass now, but I still love them" What Nintendo fanboys need to learn is that you Don't have to die on that hill protecting Nintendo's honor or some shit, just admit the flaws and love your company for what it is. G'Damn I deserve a f***in Nobel Prize for that!
Metroid has always sold poorly. it survived Other M, it'll survive that
What are youre intentions sir? I will not accept ANY trash talking of Metroids on GBA and
before. ( using the gamecube GBA player doe not count). Put your energy into the junk anter
that, I couldn't give a **** about those games.

See what I said to @Jeff
