Nintendo has struck again !

You can't stop piracy like this. It would be more logical to lower the price of games.
Pokemon Game Boy games are 90 bucks each with new save batteries installed. Crystal is 200 bucks though. It goes up higher with GBA and DS games. The resellers know they can sell Pokemon for more money. It's robbery. Pokemon games were the highest selling but because they are the most in demand, the prices are crazy!

I think a sensible country would take exception to a purchased piece of hardware that's designed to destroy itself or otherwise become unusable when used in an unauthorized manner. Like it's not just "the console wasn't designed to do this so we will neither guarantee it won't break nor fix it for free if you use it in ways it wasn't designed for" or even "the firmware does not recognize this part and will not run with it installed so as to avoid damaging the hardware components". It's outright malicious on Nintendo's part.

This is a lie.

Not you mind you but from the industry dirty mouth, games used to be on cartridges, boxes had manuals had stickers had pins or even had their carts/disc in different colors from the norm.

Years ago this was the standard, not it what you will call DELUXE edition, so no.

The price increase is just a a business trying to see what they can get away with since they are in the unique position on the market.

Companies tend to spend users or consumers goodwill as currency and then we have backlashes like this.
Issue now isn't how they lie to us but rather how people still pay full prices for those deluxe editions, wonder for how long this will go... ofc the answer is for as long as we let ourselves get threated like this but at the end of the day guess too many people are still "hooked" to buy games ASAP. Also you made me smile when you mentioned the cartridges and manuals.... how they told us "oh digitals will be cheaper since we don't have to produce anything and the manuals won't be gone just posted as files" oh how far have we fallen....

Deluxe physical editions do still kinda make sense in the indie scene and on PC. Indie devs aren't attached to some corporate monolith that's just cutting back on the physical materials to make the quarter look better for shareholders at the expense of the user experience, and full digital from a mainstream storefront is just a lot more convenient on PC

The problem my friend is that we are not the target audience even if we hate to admit it, we will not had this before but we are no longer the major demographic.

My brother in games, there is people outside that think playing gachas and still think it is normal.

The current market and "players" are more tolerant to have their assess rammed by a rod that before.

And in turn companies employ said willingness to be taken advantage.

Am so sorry but most people born from 2005 onward have a very weak will when it comes to stand for themself, avoid conflict and is constant apathy.

At the end of a day, I will try to preserve what I can and maybe some day share

Nor are any other studios, this is incorrect. cost comes at any operation within a company, it is expected

Electricity will be billed to you either you use it or not this is no different.

A shareholder care for the name of the company at the end of the day your shares within the company make you money when sold.

The reason for the lack of tangible goods is not surprising at all, its call laziness.

Even if it sounds ridiculous if you do not have a internal team that takes this matter into account and have some intern developer write tutorials then problem solved, convenience.

it is indeed.

Why the fuck the digital version of a game cost the same as the full "packaged" version?

Laziness again.

Corporate people are not geniuses, most of them are not even intelligent on what they do.

Look for the UBISLOP president telling us the users "things are not for ever" as if video games were some kind of antivirus swoftware with an expiration.

I can't help but wonder if the consumer would pay a few hundred dollars more for a microsoft windows operating system with an assurance that they won't ever try to gather data in an invasive and resource-intensive fashion or advertise to you directly through push notifications and the start menu, that the update cycle will not add such monetization methods, and that the the updater will give the user a more precise indication of progress and hangups than it does now.

The videogame landscape makes more sense if you do the following

Indie= videogame industry

AAA= we are a necessary part of the ecosystem, we inspire and create new experiences so players can invest themselves in intricate worlds and bla bla bla bla.. wrap it up please, consume product, buy more keep buying, business, payment, layoffs, profits, records,

Personally i don't believe in AAA games and indies, i judge a game for its merits

if Armored core 6 is good then it is, and if Megaton Musashi is good and so be it.

We did, it was called windows XP and for a time you did not have to wonder such thoughts.

Hell even UBUNTU on linux around 2006.

I can't even be surprised anymore with Nintendo. In a world of draconian practices in the realm of gaming, they are definitely at the top of being the worst.

Like they somehow ruined the entire point of owning physical games with the Switch 2. It's so insane I can't fathom while fans keep buying the consoles.

Says the user on a website dedicated to game piracy.
And if this site gets shut down you won't see me crying about it. I recognize that what we do here isn't legal and I don't make up bullshit arguments to try and justify it. If this place gets shut down than I'll just move on to the next place.

That being said, I get my stuff from elsewhere and only use this site for the forums. I originally only found this site because I was looking for forums.

To be honest I too don't want a kid to find nsfw stuff on Google if he searched about art of their favourite character.

I remember being assaulted with MLP horrors when I watched FIM for the nostalgia. I had no idea that show would attract anyone other than little girls and nostalgic women who played with the old toys. Looking back, I should not have been that naive. 😓
You are asking Nintendo, to ask Microsoft, to ask Rare to bring back a game which they need to ask Disney AND Nintendo about and after all that, Microsoft doesn't get shit from this.

Things like this are also the reason why we can't have Liquid Television, KaBlam and unedited versions of Muppet Babies and Beavis & Butthead on DVD. Copyright hell.

If Nintendo were smart, they'd get together with Rare and Microsoft and make a more complete collection of Rare Replay that includes all the Game Boy, SNES, N64, Gamecube, and GBA games missing from it. Toss in the betas and make them playable.
Assuming they are still owning the beta of their games. Some companies have lost their source code.

On a side note Microsoft is still a competitor, giving them more opportunities to get fund would be a foolish idea in a purely commercial sense. It's as if McDonald's would offer KFC chicken nuggets in their menus.

I hope the forum would still survive if it ever happen.

On a side note each time a rom site got shut down I've noticed the same pattern and I came up to that conclusion:

  • Do not put rom/iso files of consoles that are still being sold (even the PS4 and Xbox One games are still more or less currently sold in stores in parallel to their respective successors). Having Switch and Switch 2 games available is basically a death sentence for the site.
  • If the site gets too popular and didn't lock the access to the files behind an account (EmuParadise was one of my first site I used for them) it's not surprising if some sort of authorities would check them out.

That being said, I get my stuff from elsewhere and only use this site for the forums. I originally only found this site because I was looking for forums.
Like anything on the net it's good to not rely on one single source for your stuff.

The Internet has its way.

B&B had many licensed songs right? And yes, Copyright Hell is one of the reason why some series are only on VHS tapes.

Kablaam actually is free to watch just because it's in legal limbo. The creator's website has full uploads of every single episode. https://www.markmarek.org/ANIMATIONS/KABLAM/KABLAM.html
