NINJA GAMES!!1!

As far as the first generation of ninja games, which were usually 2D action side-scrollers, I'm a Shinobi fan. I like basically all of them to different degrees, on the arcades, Genesis, Game Gear and Saturn. I especially like the original Rolling Thunder-style ones where you have to be methodical and you die in one hit.
The first game where you really feel like a ninja, though, sneaking around in the darkness and assassinating, was Tenchu, the first 3D stealth game to be released to my knowledge. Even the minimalistic stories feel like real ninja jidaigeki - stuff like Kage no Gundan.

Fun little film. I also found it hilarious asf when they played K-pop(Seotaji) when they arrived in Tokyo because apparently, all Asians are the same.
Funny thing is the movie has two Asian-American producers out of three and one of the writers is Korean. Who knows who called that shot, though. But in the '90s there were all these American movies with asian martial arts themes and they all had this clueless approach to the cultures anyway.
I grew up with the first 3 Ninjas and I still think it's a good children's movie, but the sequels didn't age as well IMO.

That still doesn't surprise me as alot of Asian Americans, specifically living in the West can't even speak their own language because their own parents discourage them from doing so.

Yeah, plus there aren't enough Asian Amerians (especially in the '90s) to have really separate communities in most places necessarily. So if anything to an Asian-American the whole "eh, China, Japan and Korean are kind of the same" attitude isn't that wild.

The Messenger is an action-platformer released in 2018. In a world where humanity is almost extinct after the attack of the Demon army, you play as a young ninja on a mission to deliver a scroll that could hold the answer to ending this threat (I swear I tried my best to not copy too much from Wikipedia).

What surprised me most about this game is that at first it feels a lot like Ninja Gaiden, but as you progress, it begins to have more components that make it more like a Metroidvania.

I highly recommend playing this game!
