New Xbox hardware update

With computer tech and power effectively doubling every 6 to 18 months, it would be crazy to release an next gen XBox 2 years before Sony and Nintendo. It would be obsolete before Sony and Nintendo release their's.

it's actually a myth that pc tech and power is doubling every 6 to 18 months(basically, moore's law has been dead for years), what they are doing is pumping more and more power through the chips to boost performance capabilities, but in reality the performance uplift clock for clock might be in the single percentiles and they use extra tools to trick extra performance such as upscaling as well, this is also part of the reason costs have gone up.

This is a massive problem in the current tech industry that if it isn't overcome soon, might cause a crash, they are likely playing a waiting game for stuff like graphene to be ready for prime time.

A crash might be healthy for the industry at this point. Developers are too used to relying on spec upgrade to cover their laziness. Hitting a plateau of sorts would force them to bother optimizing their code while following a quality over quantity approach. Hell, I wouldn't mind a return to simpler graphics/unique artstyles over UE5 realism everywhere.

I don't necessarily disagree, but the effect on a already damaged global economy makes me worry a tech stagnation at this point would lead us to a collapse of the global economic system, that would be even worse.

Dear game devs,
please please please optimize your code, i dont want 150 GB plus games to be the norm anymore
