Looking over the GitHub commit history, a chiptune player was added, the ROMs extracted from Castlevania Anniversary Collection are now officially recognized, and the niche mapper for JaJaMaru Ninpouchou was implemented in this update.

This is quite impressive for a patch release.

Confirmed it works, place .sav file into save folder. I'm sure the other rom hacks work as well.

I know that originally it’s quite old ,Nestopia was already around back in the 2000s. I’m not sure if this version is made by the same team or if it’s the same emulator.

Is this NES emulator really the best on PC? I want to play in the original 4:3 aspect ratio but with the best graphics for a 1080p LCD screen. Which video filters and settings do you use?

I use Sony CXA2025AS palette with xBR filter.

For NES emulators you can't go wrong with Mesen, Punes, Nestopia and Ares.

Nestopia was originally developed by Martin Freij in 2003, and he maintained it until 2008. Four years after he abandoned it, it was revived by Ryan Danbrook as Nestopia Undead Edition (UE for short). Currently, it is jointly maintained by Danbrook and Rupert Carmichael of the Jolly Good Emulation project.
