I like visual novel guys it can be the best way to consume a well done story especially if it's mystery based but sadly the genre is filled with questionable stuff ,and everytime I try searching for a game my self I encounter a lot of slop .so here some VN games that I found very great and it would be appreciated if you guys recommend me something similar
Let's start with the popular ones
1-Danganronpa
2-Ace attorney
3-999
4-Ai sominum files
And some underrated gems like
5-Paranomasight

6-Raging loop

7-Yurukill

So yeah something close to these will be very appreciated

These ones are a 3ds exclusive but there's always a another way to play them 😏, I am talking about the Parascientific Escape trilogy, this one is the first game

Basically the plot is that you're a psychic and there's a mystery to solve in a cruise.

Looks interesting enough

When They Cry series if you can stomach something longer than those.

Famicom Detective Club might also be your cup of tea, especially the latest.

Since you like 999 and AI, I can also recommend Ever 17: The Out of Infinity and Remember 11: The Age of Infinity with the same writer involved
Famicom Detective club seems good ,for the cry thing is totally out of my alley and the last 2 seems interesting Altough the screenshots are a turn off but since 999 writer was involved I'm willing to try them

As nico said I highly recommend Higurashi, the first chapter is free on pc and only about 15 hours to get through.

Kara no shoujo is good if youre fine with sex and some gore.

Chaos;head is one of my all time favs, the protag is very hit or miss for alot of people.

If youre fine with fangames I recommend Edens Garden, it's a danganronpa fan game with a prologue and chapter out. The quality of it is insane.

Pretty sure all the games above are on sale over on steam and maybe even GOG. For pretty cheap too so rn would be the best time to get them!

Nah tbh looking at the screenshots it looks visually bad ,I can never take murder mystery with a bunch of kids seriously

Looks good,I liked the concept of collecting evidence and all that if there is an SFW version I might play it thanks
Edens Garden
Yeah looks decent ,I'm not sure if it has Danganronpa wacky writing but we'll see Altough i don't want to play incomplete games

I'd recommend 428: Shibuya Scramble. It might be kind of a hard sell at a glance, it uses mostly live action photography and a bit of FMV footage but it is a visual novel, it follows multiple protagonists across 1 hour blocks within the same day and there's several mysteries at its core with each of the characters having their own plot that crosses over and interconnects with the others. There's plenty of fun humor mixed in too that would be in line with how some of the titles you mention balance comedic and serious tones.

time hollow
I actually played this one untill I resolved the phone thing ,got bored tbh does it get interesting afterwards ?

I haven't played it, but The 25th Ward: The Silver Case might be what you might like. I think it's the same writer who did Moonlight Syndrome

I second these, especially when they cry ::thumbsupwario

Have you played Spirit Hunter NG? Btw I haven’t finished time hollow either, but I heard it’s not that long.

لا عادي مو مشكلة
It’s perfectly fine. You should try umineko though.

Definitely encourage you to play Hotel Dusk and Last WIndow for DS and the remakes of the Famicom Detective Club games for Switch. Fantastic games!

Paranormasight was one of my favorite games in recent memory, and I'm desperate for a sequel with a bit of a longer more fleshed out story.

Only other game that I haven't seen listed here yet is Gnosia - i absolutely loved it, and you'll def dig it if you liked 999/VLR. The actual gameplay loop can be a bit off putting since it's effectively a looping version of mafia, but I promise the story payoffs are worth it.

Some games I highly recommend:
- Steins;Gate - The story has a lot of sci-fi and mystery elements. If you liked 999, I think you'd like this too!
- 428: Shibuya Scramble - also great game, one of my favourite VNs.
- Hotel dusk series

- I did read that you're highly against Higurashi, but I'd like to suggest to give it a try. I in general love dark, mystery and psychological stories and originally I was thrown off by the artwork too, but the anime made me curious to actually read the visual novels and get more on the details. If you're against the art style of it only, I can understand, but it be sad if that be the reason that you're missing out on one of the top psychological horror mysteries. I'd suggest maybe giving the first 4 episodes of the anime (2006) a try, to see if the vibe would be up your alley.

Not played these yet, but heard good things on them:
- Ghost Trick
- The Letter
- The House of Fata Morgana
- Nina Aquila Legal Eagle - since you liked Ace Attorney

With me being a fan of Ace Attorney and Hotel Dusk I did end up enjoying Tyrion Cuthbert: Attorney of the Arcane. If you don't mind doing Picross there is Murder by Numbers which features the composer from the Ace Attorney series. I did just pick up The Silver Case, The Silver Case 25th Ward, Burden of Proof, Nina Aquila Legal Eagle, and Duck Detective the secret salami in the current steam sale so hopefully will have an opinion on those in the near future.

I wouldn't consider Ghost Trick as a VN, but it's absolutely amazing and one of the best modern games ever imo.

I have the House of Fata Morgana in my backlog and I've also heard amazing things about it!

True! It's more adventure with some visual novel elements, but still a good one, so thought might as well as offer it up!

Umineko, Hotel Dusk, every Professor Layton, that one Sherlock Holmes game for 3DS, Your Turn to Die.

That’s it, I got nothing else

Actually this one is also in my backlog but freaking forget about it all together thanks for reminding me

Nah not just the art style ,they look like a bunch of kids ,tbh murder mystery doesn't sound right with bunch of kids ngl
Nina Aquila Legal Eagle
Looks weird in a cool way thanks for the recommendation

I also recommend Ever 17: The Out of Infinity as @Nicolate.

I personally played it and it never failed to surprise me, to the last moment. Might also make you cry.
I remember I was constantly making theories in my head about what was happening, truly a great mystery VN.
