DYRL Minmay is absolutely goated. No offence to OG Minmay, she's unfortunately annoying and is such by design.

The 4K of DYRL is the best she will ever look as Mikimoto's art style changed over the years giving her a cuter look in the modern art he has done, nothing against it but she clearly looks very different than in DYRL, looking a bit like Mylene from macross 7's end credits he did designs for if anything, and also how beautiful the cel's are in DYRL, the 4K did it justice in every way.

I strongly recommend the official english subbed 4K released of DYRL, if you don't already have it or have possibly even avoided it.

Just in case you may have avoided the DYRL English subbed release based on an extreme minorities dismissal of the the 4K, especially surrounding grain, grain was removed but very carefully, grain can be removed from the 4K scans of an animation, and it would look as clean as modern anime, essentially a bare cel almost, but very carefully and the process overseen by a human, otherwise detail is lost and not added from being able to sharpen the details that were once obscured.

It has English subs, officially on the Japanese release, great subs too, and can be bought on any amazon. There's no international rights holder to DYRL, so it can freely be sold with English subs as an official release to the rest of the world. There was a 5-6 month wait list for it after release though, serious backlog of orders being made. Also if you don't have a 4K player, the blu ray that comes with the 4K is based on the same master, just downscaled to 1080p, it is the best regular blu-ray version and that also has English subs on it, though CD Japan are claiming it doesn't.

i like it, Underground 2 is one of the first PlayStation 2 games that i played.
However,i never fully "played" the series.

I played 1,3 and Porsche Unleashed on PS1.
For PS2 i played all of them, but only managed to finish Hot Pursuit 2 and Prostreet(two VERY different games lol).
Then on PS3,i played The Run,MW2012, Shift and Prostreet again lol

i haven't properly played the NFS games post-MW 2012 because i only have PS3 atm and i kinda get bored with racing games.

I have fond memories of Hot Pursuit 2 and Underground 2 on my PS2 when I was a kid.

Admittedly I haven't touched the series since then as I'm more into sims now, but they go on sale often so maybe I'll catch up one day.

I used to play World with friends a few years back. I tried Carbon and MW 2005 but never finished either (I liked the games though, just genuinely forgot about them).

The last NFS game I actually liked and still play is Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit on the PS1.
I loved the El Niño, it was a badass car.

Oh wow, no idea hacks existed for NFS. Guess I know what I'm playing tonight !

Underground 2 and Hot Pursuit 2 for PS2 was my jam as a kid, though.

EA just said they'll stop making new need for speed games as they don't have any plants for this series anymore ( same for burnout ... ) :(

It’s been a while since I’ve played one but I used to play them a lot. Most Wanted is my favorite one.

I liked Need for Speed: Most Wanted on the 360. The game was pretty good, and I found it really fun as an open-world racer. I loved the car customization, but I didn't like that you couldn't be the police as well in the main game. I think there were some missions outside the main story where you try to catch AI drivers. I can't remember, it's been a while since I played the damn thing. Really need to dust off the old 360 and play it again.

racing games need a total overhaul in general did enjoy fast and furious arcade recently once you tweak the steering sensitivity it plays well i gave up on it for 3 months.
