Need For Speed Thread

You NEED to go to sleep.
"STAY OUT OF MY ROOM, DAD!!" 😝

On-topic, when I think of The Need for Speed, I think of this:

Well, actually, that's half true. I always think of Top Gun first, THEN the videogames. But, you know, I'm old 🙃

I miss the Need for Speed games.

Namely the era from Underground to Undercover. Everything before and after has been crap. Which is understandable for the older games, but the newer ones... I have no idea how or why those are bad.

On paper Need for Speed Heat sounds like it should be a good game. But the plot is so (for lack of better word) "modern", and the map is so flat and boring. You need more than just decent racing mechanics to make a fun racing game. Good presentation and track layouts go a LONG way.

Here's hoping they remaster or at least port some of the best Need for Speed games. I still haven't managed to play the original Need for Speed Most Wanted yet, and I really want to.

I miss it much even get stuck on one of start tutorial which was so hard.
I like need for speed I like any car games even nokia old games like beach race. I still play it sometimes like when I have to wait.

Well can someone explain need for speed was that game you were in street race and sometimes polices attack you okay?
*Me after playing too much shooting games* I hardly remember some games names which I played long ago.

Need for Speed is name of a 3d racing game series.
There are many versions of it with different cars, maps and stories.
I have only played Porsche Unleashed version of it, so i can't say much about other versions.
But looking at how you described it, maybe it's Most Wanted version.
Console ports of them are available in The Repo, but i heard PC versions are superior.

For me everything after NFS Most Wanted became UNWANTED.
From what I heard (and the footage I've seen) Need for Speed Carbon is pretty much just Need for Speed Most Wanted with a different coat of paint. At the time, people didn't like it because it was just more of the exact same. But nowadays, I think the argument could be made that it's one of the best qualities of that game. And hey, it has splitscreen. :D

That actually describes a lot of Need for Speed games. Hot Pursuit, Hot Pursuit 2, Underground, Underground 2, Most Wanted, Carbon, Undercover, plus many more.
You'll have to be more specific. Such as whether it was set during the day or night. Whether it was mostly on highways or in the city. Whether it was on the 6th gen or 7th gen consoles.

It's like asking for a Call of Duty game which is set during World War 2. It doesn't exactly narrow things down. ::eggmanlaugh

i love the serie too, atm remembering that lovely ps1 chapter with pastel color backgrounds

i'm replaying the first Underground in this period, and curiously i have choosed the Gamecube version, that i'm liking a bit more than ogxbox and ps2; great street mirroring imo

I've never actually played any of them, I was always more of a Burnout guy back then.
Which NFS game is the best on PS2? I've been interested in trying them out but I never knew which one to go for so I just never tried any.

NFS Underground 2, the best one to start with

In my opinion starting from release order is the best experience, Hot Pursuit first then work your way up, each series has it's good points. Most people agree the best one is either Underground 2 or Most Wanted 2005.
