Far too many to mention from the usual suspects of John Woo, Jackie, Chow, Jet Li

So let's go with Iron Monkey, Swordsman II, Zu Warriors from the Magic Mountain, Eight Diagram Pole Fighter, Clan of the White Lotus, Shaolin Soccer, Election I + II and the opening scene from Saviour of the Soul

A Better Tomorrow II

Speaking of Eight Diagram Pole Fighter, Shaw Bros. movies used to be what people were talking about when they mentioned Hong Kong action. Some of my favorites were in the 70's (meaning Five Deadly Venoms (1978) just misses the cutoff here, boo, hiss, etc), but the 80's still had them turn out some greats like Martial Arts of Shaolin (1987) starring Jet Li, the aforementioned Pole Fighter, and maybe the wildest one they ever made: Five Elements Ninjas (1982)!

This is the kind of picture that the phrase "over-the-top" was made for - if you've got *any* tolerance for silly action in you, I think I can promise you'll enjoy this movie.

Story of Ricky from my under standing was Fist of the north star (Boot leg?)live action done right! Not like the USA made one, which i still enjoyed,but it just diid not feel right.

IF you guys have not done so already, watch and compare them, and you will see what i mean.

All amazing titles, as no one is mentioned it yet, i will add:

A Chinese Ghost story, which had a series of films, with the first two imo being the best. Amazing action and stunt work in these films.

And my god, the sound track was magical!

Don't know if you've heard or not but Shout! and Arrow have recently acquired the rights to 156 Hong Kong films, including this trilogy, as well as John Woo's classics! ::megadancebaby Really looking forward to finally getting decent HD copies of Hard Boiled, The Killer and Bullet in the Head amongst others! There's a load of Chow Yun-Fat films in the list too - e.g Full Contact and City on Fire.
I wonder what other titles are on the full list???

I should fix that really!! I have however seen Five Element Ninjas and yes it's nutty as hell!
Maybe I should do a double bill of those two as I haven't seen Five Element Ninjas for at least 15 years!

Duel to the Death (1983) is another film with some nutty ninja action, another one I haven't seen for a LONG time! But if you're after more bizarre silly shit then Miracle Fighters (1982) and it's 2 kinda sequels, Shaolin Drunkard (1983) and Taoism Drunkard (1984) might be your thing.

Heroes of the East (1978) and Mad Monkey Kung Fu (1979) are 2 more decent pre-80s Shaw Bros titles.
I've also been meaning to watch more of Shaw Bros supernatural/fantasy stuff like Boxer's Omen (1983), Bewitched (1981) and Hex (1980).

I loved Drunken master also, and loved Sam seed! This guy and the idea of the drunken fist just appealed to me back in the day. the movements, simply epic.

Regarding potential re-releasing of these titles under Shout and Arrow, i hope they do not upscale them, as for me the grainy video added to the charm. If anything, i hope they get additional footage and interviews from the time. May be a one to one with Same seed, with him talking abut his methods. Man i would pay good money for that!

They might have some videos of him knocking about some palace, in all the videos they film, i hope they find something. These guys are legends, and beyond there performance, it would be cool to see who they where as people also imho.

I never cared much for movies before but when I was 17, I watched Bullet in the Head late at night on TV and it blew my mind, that movie ignited a passion for cinema that I still carry to this day.
Btw if you like Cowboy Bebop, do yourself a favor and go watch A Better Tomorrow 1 and 2, if the ending of 2 don't put a big smile on your face then my name is not Shirley

There are so many movies that I can talk about such as Future Cops, the Infernal Affairs trilogy, the list simply goes on.
