lol and i mean that in a good way.... you just had to put the controller down - and enjoy the music a while - earthbound did it for me - it made me feel very relaxed - i remember i would leave me snes on just for the heck of it at certain points in the game for the music - my mom would even some times come in and dance to the mr saturn theme from time to time ... ahh memories ::surprised-pikachu

The Playstation boot screen. It made me happy at the time, and has only gotten better as more and more consoles have come out that haven't matched it.

Miami (Original Mix)

The Ooze has KMFDM's Light as one of its tracks. I think that's pretty neat.

Mario Land's Birabuto's Kingdom Theme have lived in my head rent free to the point that I hum it.

Okay, I will admit that I haven't played Final Fantasy VII all the way at least to this song's point but I just love because of the fact that it just exudes home and best friend that will be there energy.

Recently played the Sega Version of Ocean's SNES Flintstones and well

This song gets me every time.

I was a huge Squaresoft fan as a kid; Final Fantasy was my favorite thing on the planet and I even tried to buy every Square game that had reached the US. When Square revealed a crossover game featuring my beloved Final Fantasy characters, featuring dumb kid movie Disney characters, I wasn't having any of it. Despite my absolute revulsion towards the idea of a Disney Final Fantasy, I ended up finding this song and listening to it. Even if the game sounded dumb, I couldn't deny the music was beautiful--at least this one track was.

Not long after this game came out, my dog died. He was a scrappy little Maltese, but he'd had seizures and choked to death when he eating when one came on. He'd been having seizures for awhile; he'd run to me every time he felt one coming on and I'd pet him and tell him it'd be okay until they passed. He was my best friend in the world at the time--he felt like my only real friend, honestly. I was at church with my younger brother when he died. We came home and I remember my mom saying, "We have to tell you something..." I was devastated (even more than twenty years later, I still get sad thinking about it). All of us were heartbroken. He was a member of the family and we all had great memories with him (except my dad, because he hated dogs and ours loved to bark at him when he tried to kiss my mom :loldog).

The night that he died, I decided to play this song while trying to deal with what had happened. It both broke my heart and helped mend it at the same time. There's something so sad about it while also being so hopeful. It gave me a place to grieve. It's funny, as I queued it up I thought, "I'm about to ruin this song for myself for the rest of my life." I knew I was going to think of my dog every time I heard it, but I didn't really care because I didn't think I'd ever bother playing Disney Final Fantasy.

A couple years later I played Kingdom Hearts on the recommendation of a friend from church. After mocking it relentlessly for about 10 hours, something clicked. I didn't think it was dumb anymore, I thought it was kind of awesome. By the end of the game, I was bawling my eyes out and eagerly awaiting the release of Kingdom Hearts II. And despite the fact that I originally related Dearly Beloved to my dog's death, I don't think about it when I hear this song anymore. I think about all the great memories I've made playing this series for the past twenty years. I'm grateful this series was here when I was at my lowest.

Games really are the best.

Last time that happened was when I played Hotel Dusk. When I completed the first chapter and "Play it again" kicked in, I felt like this:

Here's the music for whoever hasn't heard it:

Another time I remember was when I found out Max Payne has a mobile port. I paused the game, left my phone on and felt it.
Here's the music too:

For me it was Armored Core 4 and For Answer. While not my first AC's and I definitely adore the late 90's Jungle\DnB that grungy, garage numetal vibe from 4th gen really struck a chord with me. Absolute standouts for sure are Thinker:
And Remember:

I've been looking for music similar to these OST's which were produced by FromSofts in-house music band Frequency but they're so singular and unique. When these tracks play while piloting an Armored Core VO boosting at Mach 2 it's just exhilarating.

When I'm looking to lock in at work though it's gotta be something like Ace Combat 3's soundtrack which Bandai Namco remastered just last year. Phenomenal tracks epitomising to me that techno\DnB trend that was so prominent at the turn of the millennium. Just gonna shout out Linkage from the tracklist:

I'm gonna mention something that actually flies under the radar for many and that is the Tobal 2 soundtrack.

I absolutely love it and it gives me a sense of nostalgia for the game as I'd never got play it around release but only in recent years. My favourite 3d fighter on the ps1 easily.

This would have been the original tekken team's true tekken 3, as they formed dream factory after Tekken 2 finished development, built the engine for tobal no.1 and then refined it into Tobal 2 a year later. Massive increase in quality for a 1 year turn around time.

Anything by Yuzo Koshiro and Streets of Rage.

Parasite Eve is something real special too. Nearly every song feels right at home on Christmas or the days before Christmas.

Resident Evil 5 Result's Theme - I love it more than the RE4 Save Theme.

Most of the time when I try to remember a video game music that made me feel a lot of stuff and actually made me set the controller down or enter some kind of flow state are from my favourite genre of games Shmups. Shmups are just like Sonic and Kirby games no matter what they will always deliver S tier video game music I was really torn between Blue Revolver [Opening The Gates to Dream World] and Dodonpachi Daioujou Stage 1 Theme [East Asia] but I decided to go with Daioujou because I believe anyone can appreciate it without playing it while Blue Revolver I argue that the track REALLY comes alive when you play and hear it in-game

This song. Whenever I play DQVIII I always sit around and let it play out. Something about it is so mellow and enchanting, I can't help but to stop and listen.

There's a number of great soundtracks from this game. If I play it long enough, I always find myself humming along to certain tunes as I play.

This song has exactly the effect of this title post, put the controller down and enjoy.

Also, this masterpiece
