Cartoons Name me a cartoon that is practically unknown outside your country

The toon can be any type of animation from CG, to stop motion or even traditional.

I'll start with Rex The Runt, a British stop-motion show about a bunch of weird dog characters going on surrealist adventures.

Its made by Aardman, the Wallace & Gromit people, but no one i talk to about this show knows what the he'll im talking about.

It was actually banned in the US shortly after release, then made it to Scandinavia and Russia but didn't make much of an impact, before landing in Argentina and running for exactly two years, then getting canned forever... except for a brief resurgence in Germany in the year 2000.

But the crazy thing? It was originally released in Japan in 1974 and forgotten for two decades before getting picked up by Saban.

I'll go with Kalle Stropp & Grodan Boll!

Originally a radio-play created by Thomas Funck, in the 80s and 90s a few animated movies were made, and they rock. Thomas Funck voices almost all of the characters himself, and originally made all the sound effects in the radio-play.
The titular characters are the cricket Kalle Stropp and the frog Grodan Boll (literally the Frog Ball) go on crazy adventures, where they usually save a friend of theirs. In true nature-loving swedish fashion they also save the pinecone kingdom by attempting to thwart a scheme by evil capitalists who want to raze a forest in order to build a luxury hotel. A message that goes home even today when that very thing is currently happening in Sweden.

Here's an iconic scene where Grodan Boll wanders into a computer and becomes a retro video game, which feels apt to share in this forum:

I have many more examples, but this one is probably the most swedish one I can think of.

Fun children's animation. Didn't have any major cultural impact, but was quite fun whilst it aired.
And I'm only just noticing the Armadillo has an inverted tri-force on his bonce.

Oooh but I'll tell you what was FANTASTIC, El Nombre! He protects his village whilst teaching elementary mathematics. Thanks, El Nombre!

I remember my little sister watching this a lot. I really liked the artstyle but I remember it being pretty loud and obnoxious.

YTV aired a lot of Canadian animated shows. There's also Reboot but I'm pretty sure that gained some popularity in the US as well as it was one of the first CGI shows. As a kid a lot of Canadian and US stuff blended together for me so I don't remember which is which for most of them.

No joke I only caught one episode of this when I was young and ill, staying home from school. The episode had to do with fish and bringing it to a house on a hill during the winter. Thanks for the random memory!

Also, the jovial tone of the theme tune always reminded me of Albert the Fifth Musketeer, another show I couldn't have caught more than once or twice

Oh god, I remember that show very vaguely mostly due to the unique art style.

I also remember el nombre, though technically iirc nombre means name rather than number which seems weird for a show about solving number issues.

This is older than it looks, the studio that produced this was very close to animating the El Chavo series.

Little Elvis Jones and the truck stoppers. About a child who was allegedly thrown out of a moving car as a baby in a guitar case in front of a diner by his namesake. (refered to over and over as the king.) The villain of the show was a man so petty he would use a special marble in order to steal marbles from children even though he was rich and also an adult.

There was once this animated movie called, Adarna, The Mythical Bird shown in my country. Let's just say I tried my best to like it but all I can tell you is, when you make a villain song for a children's movie, do NOT use heavy metal/death metal.

"Una Película De Huevos" is a mexican animated film released in 2006. The title can either mean "A movie about eggs" or "A movie about balls" since "Huevos" is a slang term for balls. Furthermore, the movie could also be called "A movie about courage" since "Huevos" has the same connotations that English has with "Balls" (i.e. "grow a pair".)

Title aside, I haven't seen this movie in a long time, and I watched it when I was very young so i basically don't remember anything at all. I don't even know if it's available in English either because I doubt the anglosphere would care about a movie like this. Although I do wanna look further since it might be a fun project to subtitle this movie in English!

My original pick was going to be El Chavo Animado, but that show has gotten a mention here. El Chavo Animado also got an English dub for the first two seasons, and I know of two people who do know about this show because of the English dub. I personally think it's a bit weird to dub this show in any language at all though.
