I currently in a journey to rewatch all Dragon Ball animes i've already finished (Classic, Z, GT) and watch the Super animes. DB is one of my favorite animes of all time and i wanted to try rewatching to see my opinions about. So, did the Classic is still great or just a nostalgia obsession of mine? Well, i still think Classic is pretty solid and a pretty fun goofy comedy with some cool fights (especially in the Budokais), but also i think the pacing of some episodes (Like the aftermatch of Piccolo Daimao and the fillers post Red Ribbon/Uranai Baba Tournament arc) is dragged on and the amount of repetition of some frames can bother a bit, but i love the artstyle so much of Toriyama that i found these moments actually fun.

I will create a more in depth review with spoilers when i finish the whole classic and start the Z saga.

I tried to rewatch the first Dragon Ball series and I knew I wasn't going to finish, but I only made it about 10 episodes in. I'm ashamed of myself and all. It's too bad. I twas one of my favourite growing up, but I don't like it any more.

Did you like GT about the same as the others? I know people really disliked it when it came out in my country, and I found going back to child Goku weird. However, I remember it being more of a fun adventure than what Z eventually became.

I actually thought that the original series had fallen off a cliff (pacing-wise) between the Red Ribbon Army War and the Piccolo saga — I'm glad I'm not alone thinking that!

Akira must've taken a while deciding what he actually wanted to do for the next arc and how to set it up.

Id say watch the Path to Power movie if you want an idea, worst case scenario you'll get some beautiful animation and a teenage ass

It gives you a taste of the series by mashing together a bunch of early chapters and animates them wonderfully, kinda like an OVA

The og anime has so much filler theres a fan recut version that cuts it all out and its like 40 episodes shorter; Id also recommend just reading the comic

The manga pacing is much better tbh, i was able to get through the entirety of Dragon Ball ( except GT ) in about 3~ish weeks, for comparison it took me 7 months for the anime rewatch (excluding GT cuz not akira) lol

would it take longer to watch that compared to Fairy Tail or Inuyasha or Samurai X/ Rurouni Kenshin? those are super long but good
