Hi all. I've been going crazy trying to find 1. Ghostbusters that is not in French. 2. Alone in the Dark, same thing French only. Or is their anyway to change the language over. I'm using the Kinhank portable HDD 2TB if that helps. Pretty new to this all so go easy on the old boy :)

If you're using the EU version, then there's a setting for it. But if you couldn't find it though then

If you are playing them on real console, it is possible that the language of your console is set to French.
You can try changing it to English and test again.
Also as @DunkeyKong mentioned, using the English-Only versions of games is a solution too. (usually USA versions)

Depending on the region of the disc images, the languages available will be limited. Games in the repo have country flags to signify the release region, so look for those stars and stripes.
Well I don't play much game on ps2. I suggest you USA versions. This versions always would be english. If you already download the USA version and it show French,check settings on game and emulator or console. Some games don't have language choose for some reasons. I if the game itself was in specific language well you should use translation patch but as you said alone in dark and Ghostbusters so they must be English. Language problem happens a lot of time.
I downloaded these both and still both are in French. :(

No option available for change language in the option screens. Nor any further options to change the language in the system settings of the Kinhank HDD menu options.
Okay the problem isn't from roms maybe. You use other games on it? This happens only on these games you said?

Try a rom only have one language which is very small, then if it happens again(system try to translate them) you must check you system. If I know right some roms have different languages. Maybe your system stuck in one of them(which is France). It maybe about region too. Some hardware use region for main language.

I see, what device or emulator are you using?
You might want to check the setting of whatever device you are using, as they may be forcing a regional setting.
I use the Kinhank HDD 2TB external hard drive. It has 120,000+ games on it. Region is set to Australia. The games on it are pre loaded on heaps of different consoles. I've used CD romance, Vimms lair and romhustler to download PSX and PS2 games. Had some issues with some games being in other languages but these 2 games the most trouble.
Okay so it as I though kinhank is a external hard drive with games on it. I heard about this somewhere else. I don't know much about it but I think someone knows a lot about this hardware In forum.

I might download the EU version and try my luck. If it's in Italian or Spanish at least I can understand that

So does anyone know of any safe rom sites. I've downloaded both games from CDromance, vimms lair, rom hustler and another I can't remember which though all said they were in English but both were in French

Okay try use 2x or 3x graphic on it. Go to options and graphics.
Fixed that too finally got it all sorted. Thanks you guys for the help
Glad to here! Now it's time to move to my 16 bit games
