When it comes to someone's first RPG game they ever played, what comes to mind? Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Ultima, Wizardry, the list can go on. For me, my first RPG was the NES title, Little Ninja Brothers. In Japan, it;s known as Super Chinese 2: Dragon Kids, which is the second game in the Super Chinese series. The first being Super Chinese which we got in the states as Kung Fu Heroes. You play as brothers Jack and Ryu who must save Chinaland from an army known as the Yoma Clan. You walk around the land fighting in random battles both beat'em up and Turn based. It also has minigames to play. Best part about the game, it has co op which let's you play as both brothers. Player 1 is Jack and Player 2 is Ryu. I recommend it. if you want 2 player adventure or go solo, the choice is yours.

I keep seeing the Super Chinese series (World in particular) popping up all over lately - I had never heard of the series until it was first uploaded to the repo. It definitely does look interesting!

I can't even remember what my first RPG was... it might have been some long forgotten cRPG of yesteryear, but as things go that I can at least vaguely remember, it'd definitely be between Pokemon Blue, Final Fantasy 6 or... Quest 64 for some reason. Younger me had immaculate taste.

I really hope it was Pokemon Blue. As entry-level RPGs go, that series really was ideal, absolutely agree with Jayonnaise there.

If we're talking the first one I finished, I'm not even sure.
Probably Final Fantasy X or Pokemon Ruby

If it's the first one I played, it's either Final Fantasy 8 or Final Fantasy 9. When I was younger I only had a MegaDrive and the RPGs on that system were never ones I came across, at least at the time.

Might and Magic II for the Commodore 64 (I know the image says amiga, same art though)

At the time, I thought I could wrap my feeble brain around the concept of an RPG and boy was I way off the mark. First RPG I actually played through was Phantasy Star II alongside a friend over the course of a summer break.

The first one I played was The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (GC, 2003) which was a Beat em' up or Hack 'n Slash but with RPG elements like the Experience system which may vary depending on each character's current Level and as well as Perfect Mode that you could have more experience points if you defeat an enemy But it doesn't just last a certain amount of time And also with the experience points obtained in each completed stage you can buy upgrades, combos and skills of each character or the entire community if available to make them stronger and more skilled at the same time.

Technically, the first RPG I ever played was Super Wonder Boy in Monster Land (Amstrad CPC).

But in my heart, my first RPG will always be Phantasy Star III. Go on, throw stones at me! It doesn't matter because I'll always have a lot of affection for this imperfect game, which was also full of good ideas (and the Ippo's soundtrack is awesome) ::heart

I Was a Genesis/MegaDrive kid, and I didn't really start exerting my personal taste in games until Gen 5. My introduction was probably seeing Final Fantasy VII at a friend's house. That said, the first RPG I ever owned and played was also introduced to me by that same friend: Breath of Fire III.
