My favorite games/my recommendations in no particular order

it's been a while since i updated my topster and this is a great opportunity! it's a bit recency bias i fear but i love what i love, can't help it : D

Topsters is great. Here’s mine.
so happy to see someone else loving Shadow of Memories! Tekken 5 is another fabulous pick, both core childhood memories of mine... i keep meaning to play more Majora's but the atmosphere is so terrifying and oppressive, it's incredible!
i really enjoyed watching my friend play through Skyward Sword and Super Mario Sunshine over the past year or so, Sunshine in particular is such an awesome game i feel doesn't get enough love for its innovations in 3d movement and physics!
This is probably going to change a million times in the next ten minutes, but here goes:
can you sell me on D? i've repeatedly tried to get into it but it has some growing pains i often can't fight through... emulation is also quite difficult for it! really happy to see NiGHTS and Vib-ribbon here!
here's mine in no particular order :
i really have to hop on Galerians! i only ever hear good things ^^

Nice to see another Grasshopper Manufacture fan here.
Question, do I gotta play the first two Echo Nights to understand Beyond? I tried them the other day and kinda bored me to death, but Beyond looks so interesting.

Nope. The Echo night games are separates stories in different settings (for example 1 uses a boat as his main setting) but they repeat the character names 👍

Megaman, souls and smt fan? Sign me up!

I see some pretty good stuff here. Call of Pripyat reminds me that I need to finish SoC. I'm curious since you've listed Persona 2:IS, Which version do you prefer, PS1 or PSP? Despite playing tons of mainline SMT I've never dipped my toes into Persona before. What do you like about Baldur's Gate III too? I ask since I've only ever played through Baldur's Gate 1 which I enjoyed, but I know they're different additions of D&D and III is turn-based.
for now i've only played the psp version of Persona 2: IS i'll play the ps1 version someday lol. And about Baldurs Gate III i like the fact that you have a lot of different things to do on your playthroughs and it reminds me of dragon age: origins but with better character customization i haven't finished it yet tho, i dont have a pc thats good enough so i used to play on Geforce Now but now you have queues for 500 people and im not going to wait 3 hours to play a game for only 1 hour because i dont have the monthly subscription x_x

Love New Vegas! It's hard to pick whether I like it or FO1 more, they're both so good. I noticed you have Banjo-Tooie there and not Kazooie. Makes me wanna give Tooie another try! I probably burnt myself out playing it right after Kazooie but I'd no doubt enjoy it more now if I went back to it.
I own New Vegas on the Xbox 360, as well as Fallout 3. I have Banjo-Tooie on there and not Banjo-Kazooie because I originally played Banjo-Tooie first, not knowing it was the second game.

(There's some Banjo-Kazooie hacks out there too, like Snowglow Village, not the Mark Kurko one, but another one & so on if you knew about those)

"i really enjoyed watching my friend play through Skyward Sword and Super Mario Sunshine over the past year or so, Sunshine in particular is such an awesome game i feel doesn't get enough love for its innovations in 3d movement and physics!"

I haven't played either game in several years @denofven & ya, maybe Super Mario Sunshine might not get enough love, but I'm not honestly sure.

Also here my topster. There are a lot of games I wanted to include but here are the things I played recently
wasn't shadowgen awesome... my friend streamed it to me prior to my recent sonic fixation and i went back to play all the games it references! the mephiles segment has to be my favourite
Mirror's Edge continues to be one of the best games ever made imo!! some awesome niche picks here

Surprised to see Psychopomp Gold here, but it's a pretty neat game. I played through it like a month ago and while very short, I liked it a lot. Dragon's Dogma, Demon's Souls, and Elden Ring are all games I have or will definitely be playing through multiple times, and Dragon Valor is a really neat game I grew up with, but never finished. I totally need to rectify that.

Love Mega Man X 1-5, extremely solid set of games through and through. I just played through Baroque (Saturn) a few months ago and absolutely loved it! Wonderful mix of atmosphere to reinforce the Mystery Dungeon styled design. It was always so cool seeing all the weird things you could do to gain an advantage. I've also been wanting to try Armored Core, haven't delved into Fromsoft's mech stuff yet but I have no doubts it's awesome. Nocturne is also a pretty great game. I had a knee jerk reaction to it at first because it was nothing like SMT1 or 2 which I played first, but I've come to like a lot of what it does and see it as a pretty unique entry.

Honestly, the remake of DQ3 was so good that I totally see why someone might prefer it over the SFC version. If anything it gets me excited to see what they're going to do for DQ2, a game I feel is largely underrated within the series. Klonoa's a series I really like from what I've finished of it (1, 2, and Legend of the Star Medal); very great choice. I'm surprised to see Daemon X Machina as a favorite, if only because I've never met someone besides myself who's played through it. I wanna do a second playthrough on my PC copy sometime soon, I remember the moment to moment gameplay being a blast on Switch.
Shmups have such good music but I really should play more of them. Tell me a bit about Albert Odyssey though, if you don't mind me asking. It's a series I've always known of, but I'm looking for that push to try it out myself sooner than later, so I'd love to know what makes those games favorites of yours!

This was harder than I thought.
I just picked up Trails in the Sky today since it was on sale, will have to play through that some time soon! I had a fun experience with DKC, streaming my first playthrough of it to a good buddy who loves those games, lots of laughs were had. Have you played the older Ys games? I've played up to 7 but never got past the opening hours of it. I hear 8 is the fan favorite of the newer games in general.

Only played Ys VIII and Ys I. Gotta play the rest but I'm to lazy to start Ys II after playing the first one on nightmare.

hop on peak..... it's crazy underrated for how it utilises branching story paths and combo gameplay, it's a very nostalgic title very few people i know have even heard of! an open plea to the users of this site to peep Dragon Valor <3

Muramasa mentioned! Kingdom Come always looked so immersive and cool to me, are you hype for the sequel? it looks like more of the same which is far from a flaw!

I'm really hyped and doing my best to not buy it before release, just waiting to see the performance.

About Albert Odyssey : First of all, it's a beautiful, charming game with memorable music.
The battle scenes are superb and fast-paced. They never last more than 7 seconds, so they don't slow down the pace of the game.
For a tactical RPG, it's quite simple, easy and very flexible in its gameplay. You can choose to move, attack and use magic/special attacks in any order you like, for each character in your party. You can even move the same character twice each turn.
You can use items at any time during the game, and as many times as you like, for all characters, but you don't need them very often.
There are no magic points, so there's no need to worry about running out of attack or healing magic.
There's also no need to worry if one or more of your characters is affected by an alteration of state such as 'poisoned', which disappears on its own after one or two turns without doing too much damage.
Albert Odyssey 2 retains all the graphic and musical charm of the first, but is more difficult and unfortunately loses all this gameplay flexibility. But it's still a great game.
