Genesis My boxed Mega Drive

Box is tatty, the original controllers are in a tub somewhere and need new membranes but this is my boxed Model One Mega Drive, with switchless region mod and slightly widened cartridge slot to accept Japanese games. I don't use it now it just stays in the cupboard as my own personal collectors item as I'll never sell it. Needs dusting too haha. The registration card came with it although I had to buy the manual off eBay separately. I need to either replace the membranes or grab two replacement controllers to go in the box to properly complete it.

There's a store in the UK that could have what you're missing with the packaging, along with a PET protector box.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention mate this could be handy for me. Yeah I bought this one specifically because I wanted a model one as it was plus I wanted a boxed one, even though it's tatty it's mine haha.

Classic European Sega Mega Drive, i always liked that version than the North American Genesis. Cool box packaging and console, even better region moded you better keep that console and never sell it you have a holy grail.

Well, it was part of my Sega Genesis console bundle, but I get what you mean...

No I get you, to be fair it looks like half my registration card is missing so I think there was more to it at some point but what can I do, travel back 35 years? I knew it weren't in good shape when I bought it but I only paid £45 for it so I can't complain really, it's not like I'm displaying it to anyone other than myself really and I'm never selling it so...

Oh for everyones information the Mega Drive is from 1991, when I bought it I stripped it down to clean and on the mainboard it says "Manufactured November 1991" so right before my 5th birthday in December that year...nice...

So you get one in 1993? Because if you born in 1987 and got a MD before your birthday in 1991, that means that you got one at 3 years old.

No, I bought this particular Mega Drive about 5 or 6 years ago, I got a mega Drive 2 for Christmas 1993 but I haven't got that one anymore, it's part of the reason I ended up getting this Model 1 because I always preferred them and wanted another Mega Drive anyway.

Yeah you know what you have an excellent point because I am trying to stop, I've smoked for a long time (both cigs and weed) and I'm pushing 40 now so I think it's time...

Even I think it's a nasty habit, it stinks and more importantly it will kill you. The thing is I've started telling younger people to knock it off now while they've only been smoking a few years because let me tell you, it becomes so ingrained in you that you end up buying a pack of cigs subconsciously basically. I'm not unfit with being a cyclist don't get me wrong but I can feel it catching up to me now and I'd be fitter if I didn't smoke.

Haha fair enough regarding alcohol then, I rarely drink but then I used to be a barman for 12 years so it put me off drinking. I'm not a bad drunk anyway.
