In the mid to late 90s, my family and I went to a pawn shop and there was a sale going on. On the glass counters there were OG model PlayStations for $40. So my Father bought it and the clerk behind the counter said we can pick out a free game. Who says no to that? Bushido Blade caught the attention of my brothers and I with the back cover saying "Sword matches become unbelievably real where one critical blow is the mean difference between death and victory." We were completely sold. The amount of hours spent even doing the 100 survival challenge just to unlock a character who uses a gun. Time well spent.

I have memories first playing it at Toy's 'R Us store when they had a bunch of PS1s and TVs in the front of the store to preview /try out new releases. It played like nothing else at the time, more realistic, and I really liked the free-roaming aspect not being stuck on a linear plane. Ended up renting it, and it's sequel a few times.

This one was also my first game, I still go back to play it to this day

The first english PS1 game i ever played was Ape Escape. Hours were dedicated to it. Taking turns with a friend on the controller. Sleep was military-like; we napped like we were on a crash bandicoot time trial event as we treated our game progress. We got to Dexter's Island~a huge dino taking half of the whole stage was right infront of us. It took us till midnight to figure out how to progress; my neighbour was going to get chips from the cabinet, when he accidently hit the analog controller. It prompted our main character to hit the huge Dino, only for same creature to open it's darn mouth. I will never forget the look on both our faces when we realized what just happened hahahahaha. Good times.

My first PS1 game was a demo disc that came bundled with the late models around the ps2 launch window. I remember it had Medievil and maybe sheep raider? Certainly there was more, maybe BoF3? Come to think of it, I may have stolen the disc from a gaming magazine at the grocery store while mom was shopping.

I still got this one.
What's your thoughts on Bushido Blade 2? Assuming you tried that one out, of course.
Yes I did play second game and I still have the disc. Voice acting was.....meh. The action was great but they added sparks in the blood.
