Must play games with fan translations?

Personally "Earthbound 3" a.k.a Mother 3.

If you like something like Monster-catching and want to experience the Old Games for that, then Shin Megami Tensei and Megami Tensei can be said as a must play though, those are rough, the game i mean.

Persona 2 Innocent Sin is much better on PS1 than the godawful PSP version
I heard they neutered the difficulty in the PSP version but is there anything else wrong with it? When I tried PSP IS I found it too easy and got bored. I still want to finish it so maybe I'll try the PS1 version.
I'm waiting on the translation of P1 to be finished. I enjoyed the PSP port of that game but PS1 still looks like the superior version.

I really liked Dr. Slump, its a fun platformer adventure game based on anime series with the same name, which was based on Akira Toriyama's manga. And you dont need to know the source to enjoy the game at all, it does a good job at establishing the rules of their world and characters. Its sense of humour really worked on me, surprisingly (usually I dont laugh, like at all), so I had a great time with it.

PSP version already made the game easier(PS1 version is already a easy game but not at PSP levels and sometimes gives you fair challenge), PSP version has censorship, slower gameplay and worse HUD

while PS1 version has a faster gameplay(despite lacks EP's QoLs), uncensored, less easy and the translation is better because it's a translation 1:1 from japanese that even some people from Atlus USA praised

How?
From what I've played the PSP game reads a lot better, and you can play with the original soundtrack.
plus what I previously said

Kurohyou 1 and 2. The translation is good and the games are incredible. Easily became my favourites on the PSP.

Racing Lagoon, It's basically a Racing/JRPG hybrid.
7th Dragon, which is a PSP JRPG where you make your own party members.
And Final Fantasy Type-0, which is an Action RPG spinoff of Final Fantasy, also on the PSP.

I'll watch that video. I did notice that the PSP game is ridiculously easy and it bothers me, because nah, the translation is much better than the stiff PS1 fan translation which lacks character. So in the end there might be no perfect version.

As Blam said, Ace Combat 3 JP is a masterpiece and amongst the best of the PS1 (even if you can hear the game screaming against the hardware at times).
If you're into SMT or any atlus games, SMT1 PSX is great. It's just a 90s atlus game, and thus is kinda rough.

By censorship, do you mean "Hitler lacks his sunglasses and he and the nazis get called explicitly that," or is there more stuff that was changed? Because the word censorship is used so much that it's meaningless without context, and "obviously sunglasses Hitler and the nazis" isn't really censorship when it's obvious who they are.

And a 1:1 translation isn't always a good thing. Is atlus' translation caught up in localization issues that affect the whole script? Did they just flat-out make things up? Or are they punching it up by expanding on what was originally there?
