What Video game do you know may have been inspired by a movie? For me, bloodsport may have inspired things like street fighter, with them both coming out in 1988.

What other titles can you think of?

After Burner was definitely inspired by Top Gun. Heck, even the music sounds similar!

Now, was Daytona USA inspired by Days of Thunder...? Who can say for sure :-p
That might be the case, where there other movies that could have also achieved this?

I mean, Donkey Kong and King Kong? Seems so obvious, but...

...if you ask Nintendo and the US court system, the answer is absolutely NO 🤔

EDIT: Last comment here, I swear! But if you try to round up the number of games inspired by Blade Runner, you'll likely end up with a VERY long list 🤓

Yeah the Nin, will stay that DK rules, and that they created it!

Said it before in another thread, see for yourselves if your curiosity is peaked; Super Thunder Blade was inspired by the movie Blue Thunder. Like I said, I'd like a reboot of Super Thunder Blade. Look:

Even the title screen is from the movie. This when the pilot steals the helicopter over LA.

Come on Sega, don't be bitch, a reboot is way, way over due...

Listening to Super Thunder Blade, it's like kinda similar, at least a small pieces of it. Not surprising since Blue Thunder came out a year or so before Airwolf. Also in the movie Blue Thunder it's synthesized music, so playing the game will make you remember the tunes too.

Actually Max Payne 1 & 2 do owe their existence to The Matrix, but they're more inspired by Jon Woo's filmography (which inspired the effects in The Matrix).

As for my picks, we have the J-action movie Versus, which inspired Devil May Cry, and biopunk sci-fi epic Dark City, which inspired BioShock 1 & 2.

Enter the Dragon - Mortal Kombat
Rumble in the Bronx - Jackie Chan Stunt Master
Clint Eastwood Westerns - Gun
Blade Runner/Terminator/Invasion of the Body Snatchers - Snatcher

The movie would be The Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston, inspired in turn by the homonymous fantasy book.

Escape from New York heavily influenced Metal Gear Solid. Also, Lost Highway was one of the influences for Silent Hill 2.

Escape from N.Y and L.A also were the basis for the plot of Arkham City.

What about Metroid?

So was Star Fox (which got partly inspired by Thunderbirds).

Wasn't Popeye its main influence?

Unfortunately i have to say this... Goldeneye 007. I loved the hell out of the Movie but good god the game is awful.
You're allowed to have a personal opinion but no, Goldeneye 64 was anything but awful. Unless you're trying to be a hater or a troll in these forums you simply cannot deny what the game has brought to the FPS genre.

Mad Max -> Fallout
I've heard that City of the Lost Children also was an inspiration for it.
