Movie rant: 4DX - why does it exist?

I won't even ask what that extra D is for

It stands for dimension- as in "this chair will fuck you so hard you'll go through the 4th dimension and end up in the middle of next week, where humanity has been replaced by race of demonic albino gnomes that worship Slhz'tzetch, Warlord of Death, The Dark of The Moon and Bringer of the Pale Veil of Death and the Hordes of Hellgnomes."

Over the weekend, I went to see the new Superman movie with my family.

Oh nice me too. Was really great.

Well, it turns out the only available showing was the 4DX one and it was 5 dollars extra each.

Damn only 5 dollars? Here it would cost a lot more unfortunately.

My parents didn't want to wait so we sucked it up. How bad could it be? Well it turns out that 4DX is like a medieval torture device. Whenever the movie stars getting interesting, your seat starts jumping and turning and tries to eject you. Then cold air and water is splashed in your face while you are trying to focus on the film. If you are trying to eat popcorn it flies in your face. Who the fuck pays for this shit? lol. Seriously. If you enjoy 4DX please try to explain the appeal of it, because I don't get it.

That… does sound like torture. Wow, way worse than I imagined. I was just picturing maybe 3D glasses with scent devices or something but I’d hate myself if my food fell on the floor especially if it was drinks, that’d be a disaster. Well, default movie tickets are quite expensive anyways so I’m definitely not touching any of the upgrades. I appreciate the warning.
