Wang Yi, the wife of Zhao Ang, an official during the Han Dynasty

Her town got conquered while her husband was stationed in another town, starved herself for a year to not get noticed and you-know-what (SA) in order to take care of her young daughter; after safely ensuring her daughter back to their family, she ingested poison to make sure her family won't be shamed by her "dishonor" (hard to prove to every rumormonger and gossip that she wasn't touched by the invaders) but she was given an antidote promptly and survived

Nearly a decade or so later on, her husband's boss surrendered to the rebel warlord Ma Chao (yeah that "justice spear" from Dynasty Warriors) in good faith but was executed later by Ma Chao and captured her son as hostage in order to force her husband to submit to his rule; she persuaded her husband to submit on the surface and bide their time for revenge

When her husband asked about their son's safety, she wrote off her son, her husband and her own life as sacrifices for justice and vengeance (she herself doesn't know if they'll survive, so better get some payback even if they die for it); her husband agreed and revolted when Ma Chao was away. Ma Chao's wife and kids were killed in this revolt

She herself led her husband's men IN BATTLE when Ma Chao besieged their mountain stronghold until reinforcements from the nominal authorities i.e. Cao Cao, arrived; Ma Chao later executed her son then joined a religious leader, Zhang Lu and then defected to Liu Bei
