The only one we have is the Sonic Megathread. The SEGA section is surprisingly active and has a fair few options for sticky threads. Best pick would probably be “Saturn Appreciation Thread”, as that’s been active on and off for a long time and has had a ton of contributions from people. The PlayStation section has sticky threads for every system under the PS wing, so why not give SEGA systems the same privilege?

If we want to structure it more like the Nintendo section, where sticky threads are mostly related to series, then there’s many contenders. I know for a fact that Panzer Dragoon, Virtua Fighter, and Virtua Tennis all have their own threads, with probably plenty more I’m forgetting.

And, back to the systems, there was a push not too long ago to recognize SEGA’s 8-bit legacy, with the formation of Game Gear, Master System, and my own SG-1000 thread. I think there’s at least one “go-to thread” for every system SEGA ever made, so those being made sticky make too much sense. At the very least, the Master System one needs to be up there, because people love that system and are excited to talk about it with others.

Sticky threads are about promoting discussion on popular topics! I think the enthusiasm I’ve seen in many of these threads more than demonstrates that philosophy.

I agree! The SEGA section is very neglected.

Not really? Just in comparison to the Nintendo and Sony sections. I already rallied for the truly neglected section: XBox, as they don’t even have tags for individual systems over there. That fell on deaf ears though, but I think people would greatly appreciate the love and support to the SEGA section since there’s so many of us who are supportive of that part of the forums.

@TamagotchiTamaHero24 no offense but nobody cares about Sega as much as they care about PlayStation and Nintendo, people only know Sonic, Phantasy Star, Crazy Taxi and recently Yakuza.

here is a suggestion just like @MajesticSiN said just make a damn thread worth reading about bobby. : )

Amazingly reductive argument that could be applied to any company. "People only care about Mario Kart and Pokemon" isn't true, but I guess you could say it.

Make a thread worth being a sticky. At least that's my solution.
Again, I cite the Saturn Appreciation thread. Some of the sticky threads on other sections don’t have nearly as many replies, like the Super Mario Megathread or PPSPP threads. Heck, even the king of under appreciated handhelds, the Vita, has less overall messages than the Saturn thread.

I know Sticky Threads aren’t all about engagement, but still. If the people like it enough to keep it active even when it’s not sticky, it should probably be worthy enough to be sticky.

Back when stickies were made it was usually Yousef going around tidying the subforums up as a sort of pet project, and we usually asked for megathreads and certain other threads to be stickied.
I haven’t seen them around in a while though (hope they’re doing well) so the pace of stickying threads likely went down cuz of it.

I agree though, sticking popular threads is a great initiative and most subforums could probably use a bit more attention in that aspect! ::terriermon-happy

yep it is true bobby, people just dont love every single company all the time in the same level, otherwise there be so many less bankrupt companies. ; )

hell in this niche forum that the focus is games people have companies they like more or less, thats just how humans work. : )

Lets see in this forum alone right now, bobby.

NINTENDO: 9.8K MESSAGES / 354 THREADS.

SONY: 7.3K MESSAGES / 315 THREADS.

SEGA: 5.1K MESSAGES / 191 THREADS.

XBOX: 1.7K MESSAGES / 74 THREADS.

And those threads are only about Sonic, Phantasy Star, Crazy Taxi, and Yakuza. How does it feel to have such razor-sharp accuracy in your worldview?

Also, who the fuck is bobby

and how does it feel being so upset about the truth, timmy. : )

No one's upset, it's still a reductive way of looking at things. But it's a free world, you're allowed to be wrong.
Allowed? He's damn right compelled to be wrong lmao

For real though, both of these make sense as sticky threads IMO:

We should sticky the 3 Sega consoles and Genesis, Saturn and Dreamcast. Since all 3 have actual games being translated all the time. Makes sense to keep them in a single entity + saves space when everyone keeps making threads about "underrated genesis games?????"
