Tip #1: Don't use the hunting horn :-p /jk

I only have MHW, so I can only offer advice for that one. On the plus side I can't afford PS+ so I had to beat the entire game offline and solo, so I think I got fairly decent at it. I'm still far from being an expert though. I saw a video on Youtube of a team blowing up Alatreon in about thirty seconds flat with bombs and gunlances. Some folks are just god-tier at MH.

Someone convince me to buy it.
This little fella and big bonk weapons

you play monster hunter with friends

As someone who has played world /iceborne alone and g rank in Gu with people. I must say both are good options

I'm looking for a game to play with friends other than Helldivers and UFC, it seems so fun and I'm wondering what kind of game it is? (I've only seen a couple of clips on tiktok) Don't be afraid to bombard me with persuasive opinions. (PLEASE)

I guess I'm the only who play MH with friends and 80% of the time just fucks around doing something funny?

Monster Hunter is a is an Action RPG wherein you play as one of the titular Monster Hunters in its world.

Hunters get to choose from up to 14 Classes of Weapon all functioning quite differently from one another each with their own strengths and weaknesses meant to better encourage team play ranging from a bladed slab of steel meant to sever tails for more monster rewards to an Axe that can morph into a Sword that uses stored energy to deal explosive bursts of damage to select parts of the monster you're hunting.
In the older of the games your moveset is quite limited forcing you to really make the most of limited options meanwhile in the newer games you start to get full on combo strings, parries etc.

The Monsters on the other hand mechanically serve almost as bossfights with a lot of focus put into making them feel much more real within their environment, ecology and immersion play no small part in the series appeal. You'll start off fighting creatures like birds or toads with some features on them exaggerated for their environment but gradually face more and more of the fantastical.

The core gameplay loop sees you and a team of up to 3 other players Hunting these Monsters for their parts to make new equipment, typically stronger or alternative upgrade routes for weapons or for armor which provide bonuses to the player themed around the creature whose parts it's made from.
In the older games there's also no small emphasis on down time between hunts where you gather supplies from the game's many environments to brew things like potions and various gadgets to make future hunts easier, but in the newer games a lot of this aspect of the game is shortened.

The newer games in the series are the most straightforward for newer players to get into as well as easier to play Co-op with friends. If you can both run and afford it the newly released wilds is the best starting off point imo otherwise World would be my next recommendation (It's also much cheaper making it easier to rope a few other friends into).

If you've ever played a looter shooter/MMO I guess this is KIND OF similar
I'm going off of literally just the outline of the gameplay loop, you basically hunt big strong monsters to upgrade your gear and get stronger weapons
If you're looking for a deep enticing story, as someone that's played since the PSP games, I will tell you right now there is none, especially not in the more recent ones. World had no story at all pretty much, or what it did have was extremely surface level just so you could get into the meat and potatoes of the actual game. This is by no means a downside whatsoever, Monster Hunter knows what it is and it does what it does extremely good. There's a large variety of builds you can do in this game depending on your playstyle and weapon of choice. There's lots of great lore to enjoy, the surface level story aside, the actual lore of Monster Hunter is very very good and gets you to really fall in love with the games world, NPCs and wyverns. Usually the lore is given to you environmentally so you'll have to put the pieces together yourself, or just watch a YouTube video.
This is where any similarities with looter games end. Basically: great lore, gear upgrades, weapon upgrades, large variety of playstyles, awesome boss fights, and of course RNG loot drops. That's it, everything else is in my opinion at least completely unique to MH games, and those things are:
Preparations for a hunt, actually hunting the "monster", navigation, world, quests, ranking system and actual gameplay itself.
The older titles, or nowadays more popularly, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, is a no handholding game. Those games are brutal, especially for beginners. Yes, MHGU is toned down from the original games it has, but it's still very much a no nonsense game. Fortunately, it's also the best MH game by a landslide in content, lore, gameplay and overall aesthetic and looks. Yes, Wilds looks beautiful, no Wilds will never have that feeling of how absolutely gigantic the scale of the maps in old MH FEEL, not are, but FEEL. This is more of an artistic standpoint, and there's lots of videos online describing what I mean, but the scale in old MH games is significantly more visible and relevant than the new ones in my opinion.
That's for MHGU, if you want a challenge and to start with some of the "older" titles.
Wilds is probably the preferred starting point now, it's new, it's got a lot of quality of life improvements, and most of all it's easier. It's not as easy as World and Rise MAYBE, arguably World being the easiest MH game I can think of, but the feeling and overall playstyle of MH games doesn't change.
I'd say you should play Wilds if you can, and if you're too broke, World is a food option too. Even disregarding how easy it is, because this is coming from a long time veteran of the franchise, you might feel a bit of a toll if you've never played a game like it, but World does a great job and welcoming new players to the franchise in a way that isn't demeaning or insulting.

I'd push back a little on MHGU being considered the best game in the Franchise but it's still quite good! It feels like playing a greatest hits album of the series, but to me part of old gen's charm is the songs from the album not everyone remembers to keep the music analogy going.

Idk to me every game in the series distinctly has it's own feel and vibe where I could see someone saying any of the games was their favorite!

Hey, it has my favourite games in 1, and I'm an oldhead when it comes to MH
I'll never stop the glaze
Hey there's nothing wrong with having a favorite!

Mines MH2 Dos but I don't think I could ever in good conscious recommend that one to... anyone lol.

Same reason I don't directly recommend MHFU, new players would never sit through the jank or the dated mechanics. Thankfully MHGU fixed up a lot of that stuff.

Should I make a new character in 3u ? I never finished the game and I feel that my first character run I kinda stuck

Personally i haven’t played 3U but I do know starting from scratch with more experience is an amazing way to play MH
