Yay, the sky is blue and grass is green and so help me if you "um ackshually me" about those two like that one dweeb did to me years ago, elsewhere...!

But hey! There's all sorts of old vidya gold to be had here, among other things!

What OP says is true, and really, if you unpack it all, the rest of the points are true in large part because of the very first point.

The debate about graphics comes up often and, I apologize for being blunt here, is very tiresome to me.

Realistic graphics are not the be all end all answer. Proper graphical styling will always trump over realism; it is just one component of the whole. Would you buy a car based solely on its looks? no one reasonably would, because a car is a complex piece of machinery that intrinsically possesses a set of characteristics that work in tandem to deliver the intended result.

It's because of that kind of push, among other things, that the industry is in tatters. Always chasing the next big buzzword, the next useless, bloated tech in the name of "awesome graphics". Frame gen is a development crutch of the worst kind because current hardware, apparently can't deliver the big wowza graphics "everyone" wants, apparently.

Funny how back on the 7th generation the complaint was "PS2 graphics."
Times change, facts hardly do.
my complaint is that you dont really need RTX 4090 to run most games, its just that Nvidia has contracts with publishers to push it to the games so you will need to buy new GPU.

Yeah but it's not a new problem. Graphics doesn't matter but they kinda do , look at the newer pokemon per example , this debate is never going to cease , it's like the easy mode in some games

It never stops, that's why it's tiring to me, LOL.
People seem to have forgotten how to think critically.

My intention was not really to spark up conversation about art style and graphics, ofc graphics are important, but when every game looks like those "ultra realistics" mods for GTA V with wettest streets on the planet, there might be some isuess happening.

You know, soon enough they'll probably need to push pointless stuff like that to stay ahead.
"GTA VI: The wettest streets you've ever seen! (Requires a GTX5090)."

Edit: I knew a guy that wouldn't play any FPS in which the smoke didn't look like it had proper volume.

why stop at GTX5090, you will need to buy dedicated GPU server and stocks in Nvidia, and the ultra realistic graphics enjoyers will say "what ? cant afford it ? too bad poortoid lmao"

Also we didn't ship the full game here is an update to "fix" that (i still can't forgive Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5)
I hope no one ever will. People in general are too lenient with the big guys, and this just enables them further.

Seeing that Robomodo went out of business because of it! I hope is easier to never forget... but the gaming industry is prime example of not learning at all ::cirnoshrug
