Mizzurna Falls (ITA Patch)

Hello!

We've recently uploaded a patch for Mizzurna Falls which completely localizes it in Italian on Archive!

The patch was created using Delta Patcher, and we've included also all instructions along some notes in a readme file. To quote said file, "This patch is the result of more than 2 years of work from RickTM and Grandpa Theobald (me^^). All translations were done manually without the help of any kind of automation process and were then reviewed both before and after their ingame implementation to make sure our wording always suited the context seamlessly."

Just thought I could share this piece of news here as well. Also, thanks a lot for this website and to everyone chipping in with their findings!

I see. Was this translation done on the existing english fan patch or on the original japanese version?

Good question!

The Italian patch was based on the English translation, however during the ingame final review phase all necessary amends were done in order to make the final result flow as naturally as possible (and there were many ). In a couple of cases, this entailed almost ignoring what I read in English and coming up with something which "agreed" with the previous and the following sentence. This happened only 3-4 times top I'd say during the full playthrough, and never for key lines. So it was just a matter of fixing the tone in a sensible way when appropriate.

For the final dialogues, we also did a comparison with another English patch to have some extra references.

One thing I was really careful about during the final review was the way Matthew Williams speaks to the other characters, cause in Italian you can use the third person (polite/formal register) or the second singular (colloquial), and I really wanted to portray a main character which uses the polite register when speaking to adults (with the exception of Nozz, since he's very close) while adopting a colloquial tone for his peers. Adults adopt the colloquial/2nd person with Matthew, instead.

P.S. Welp, for convenience you could provide the pre-patched iso: as you know, here we don't pay attention to certain subtleties (like copyright or similar)...

The patch was created and applied to the original Japanese version of course, which can be found in the repo at this link. Also, PSP Eboot version always in the repo in case anyone needs it.
The PSP Eboot page however contains only post-patch files so I'm not sure it's going to work as intended. Didn't test it this way tbf.

Yesterday I updated the Wikipedia page of the game with a bit of information about the patch and a link to the Archive upload.

Also, @Karnik I was wondering if there was anyone I could tag here or contact to potentially get the patched version of the game in the repo of the website? Since there's already a Mizzurna Falls entry with multiple localizations, perhaps even adding it to the download list there could do. Many thanks!

Hey chief, sorry to inform you that the download link doesn't work, or the pre-patched iso has been removed, at least as I'm writing this. Too bad.

Edit: Now It works.

Ahah yes, I noticed it from the comments in the Repo, luckily enough Spike fixed it quickly^^
And no worries, I thought tagging you again would have an effect but seems like I was wrong
In the end I tagged Spike in the English patched version always in the Repo with a couple of links and Spike took care of the rest.

About playing Mizzurna Falls, I do recommend using Resident Evie's guide because that's pretty much the only way to solve the mistery in those 7 days.
