I watched that video last week, and dare I say, probably the best cover of Passing Breeze I've ever heard.

So the movie would be like Mad Max that the Ferrari guy constantly crashes hostile vehicles off the road and thus the audience watches these explosions for 2 hours while they also <hubba-hubba> over the Ferrari guy's GF who has so big breasts she using them as airbags lol. In fact there can be a scene that the Ferrari hits a BS speed ramp so hard it flys so high it hits a hostile helicopter and then even a hostile plane making them turn into a wreck with high and long explosions but of course the Ferrari won't even have a scratch, so as the people in it. So Americano lolol.

Hold on, I think I just got an idea from seeing your reply. I feel like an Outrun movie would work if its essentially a new gen Cannonball Run. Better yet, use the basis of a real life cost 2 coast rally called the Gumball Rally. A competition, with a grand prize, where contestants have to race coast 2 coast from LA to New York, or maybe Washington D.C, with many checkpoints along the line. And the contestants & their girlfriends are racing in super exotic cars, with the main protagonist driving a Ferrari of course.

This got announced awhile back and has Sydney Sweeney attached to it as a producer. I can only imagine it's going to be a heist movie with a bunch of shit blowing up, since Bay is attached. An Outrun in name only.

My main issue isn't even that, it's going to be the legions of 80s shitheads who never shut up about the fucking 80s, will now have yet another thing to go "REMEMBER WHEN WE WERE KIDS DUDE" about for like five more years

I'm not even surprised. funny enough AGES ago I wrote a papers saying that after the collapse of superhero movies, video game adaptations would be next. It was the next untapped market that would unlock new markets since people moves away from media onto different media throughout generations. I was so right it kinda hurts lol. Also I dread all the bad adaptations and unwanted slop we will get from it. At least they are some good stuff.

but yeah. I think at one point, hopefully things will break and reset but I doubt it. With the downfall of traditional media in general, it's getting kinda hard to justify spending big bucks on something that will end up on a streaming platform generating 0 revenu

Tbh , Top Gear ( i mean the Snes game , not the british car show with actual brits and cars ) would be a much more fitting idea . The covers of those games already look like fire . Having a post-apocalyptic race with tuned luxury and muscles cars sounds like a badass no-brainer.

...but somehow Outrun is taken for this job . A game that is much more fitting as a racing-romance in the style of Lords & Ladies .

I would watch a touching story about how playing Outrun changed someone's life or some arty movie using Outrun as a metaphor for what's going on in someone's life with lots of surreal, dream-like, or psychedelic scenes involving the game....but it's a Michael Bay movie which means ugly looking things, lots of explosions, bad jokes for normies, characters we have no emotional investment in, and whatever nonsense passes for a plot in his movies.
