Mental health thread

What if someone finds it?
Honestly, you may throw it away after you done writing if you feel like it.
Bottling up your feelings is not good for your mind in the long run, and writing is just one way to let off some steam, an alternative if you can't do it verbally.

I didnt wanna meditate since saying uhmmm uhmmm for like an hour while sitting crosslegged with your eyes closed is more irritating than relaxing

Meditating isn't just the cliche. Meditating can be snuggling a pet, taking a long shower or even going for a walk if you're paticularly ambitious. Its moreso about learning what helps you destress and think about things in less reflexive ways. Calming down, clearing your mind and trying to "mentally reset" as much as possible.

Breathing exercises are also a great form of meditation that you can plot into damn near any day-to-day activity.

Then how am I supposed to self-introspect?
I'm not professional, but I believe introspection is about examining things with precision rather than vagueness.

For example, if you're wondering whether you're 'smart', the first step is to define what 'smart' means to you.
Then, evaluate whether your definition applies universally or needs refinement.
Once you've settled on a definition that makes sense, you can explore ways to achieve or measure it.

The key is to focus on specifics.
Pay close attention to the words you use and ensure their meanings are clear.
Ambiguity can lead to confusion, so it's important to avoid anything vague.

Also feel free to share your definitions here.

Being smart means for me that you can do anything well and you don't have to depend on the others, that you dont forget stuff, that you don't say stupidities, and that you are competent in life ans arent oblivious to anything

What you are doing is trying to define perfection, not intelligence or smarts.

No one is self sufficient entirely or exempt from making mistakes of all kinds; it's something inherent to the human condition. One of the reasons places like this forum exists is because people will seek companionship and completeness naturally.

Everyone is good at different things, bad at others, and I promise you, no one is omniscient.

Gonna show you how self introspection is for me:
"Am I really as stupid as I say I am?"
"Yes you are, and everyone would be better off without you"
I am also not a professional (at anything, in fact), but I really empathized with your messages here. I have spent the past twenty years of my life holding my tongue to not annoy others, shying away from relationships deeper than a daily greeting, etc.

I can tell you that, at least for me, it came from a sort-of perfectionism, and feeling of self-unworthiness. I am imperfect, so it follows that everyone who wants to be my friend, every good thing that happens to me is an accident/my own lying. What naturally follows lying is punishment. In this case, everyone discovering me for the fraud I am.
I think then, a lot of my own internal-critique came from a desire to be prepared for that day. Can't hurt my feelings if I already feel undeserving of good things, right?
This of course was stupid. I could never be prepared for bad things, no one ever truly is.

Maybe all of this sounds obvious to you: it sort of always did to me too. I will say though, perhaps my most empowering realization was that all of my self-loathing came from WITHIN ME, not from my own inherent unlovability.
You are the same. You are as worthy of love as anyone else. It's cruel and ridiculous that society's expectations should be imposed on you, who's new to being a person too.

I think i'm a lost cause
No? You know whats a lost cause? Someone who will never change i know a lost cause and you sound nothing like them.

My only advice is getting into fitness it can be the first step in growing as a person a healthy mind is in a healthy body.

Yeah but people in another forum say that I never listen to the advice they give to me and stuff
Why care what people say? LISTEN OR LOOK carefully what people say isnt always right you may be the correct one

Get this idea of "other person opinion = right , mine = wrong" The only people you should care about what they say are people who you care for your loved ones etc even then they may judge you wrongly , you need not to think about it start as soon as possible in excercise.

Gotta admit, working with a deadline can be kind of stressful. I know I'm 100% going to complete this, but prioritizing my Eagle Scout project as well as staying on top of schoolwork can be stressful. Today, a day when I could be working on something, had me looking for old friends who may or may not communicate with me, but I'm praying that they do. Why am I still so engrossed in the past? I don't know, but that and my obsession with PCs still hurt me to this day.

In fact, the latter caused me to remove all of the data regarding my reviews i was working on one of them being a rewrite that already had lile 5k words....
